  1. I think he's been a solid player ever since he has had the chance to play every day. Plus speed and a productive bat kind of offsets his defensive shortcomings. At this point we dont have another choice. Hitting him leadoff, we would be better off than a bunch of teams.
  2. Thanks for your take, Ill take it to heart. On another note , I for one think Martin Perez is a shrewd pick up. How did your bosses pull that one off? To say that I may have been upset last August would be a huge understatement. I am over it now. But thanks for reminding me that I do have dedicated followers out there. The therapy is helping.
  3. It is neither. In my opinion hiring both of them was a mistake and i dont care to revisit all the reasons why i think so. I can assure you there were plenty i could site in 2018 alone. So I will be happy to see them go. If they do, after their 5 year (or maybe its 10) deal ends.
  4. After this five year experiment is over and we pick up the pieces, I hope we can have a coaching staff in place that at least have some ties to the organization. The Andy McPhail, Tom Kelly regime didnt work out so bad. I get it McPhail was brand new, but thats much different than handing the keys to some people using the Twins to cut their teeth on their way to perceived bigger and better things. I still wonder why people like TK arent having a more active role in some of the questionable things that have gone on.
  5. Absolutely....every day that goes by another reliever gets signed, soon there wont be a Marwin Gonzalez out there and we will have to look at Adrianza as our every day third baseman when Sano gets another hangnail. Depth is all we need and with 30+ million to spend how could the FO not see any of it.
  6. well i do believe there is collusion...and to me it's obvious what this team needs in a year that not much is necessary to seize control of the division. So, to answer your question sure. I'm from another state playing fantasy baseball with a team i dont give a damn about sure...i want my homeys to come out on top. Falvines are not one of us.
  7. Look. after the justifications last August of "we freed up payroll money to pay for the improvement of the team
  8. Cody Allen should be a Twin...Fernando Rodney shouldnt have left..shame on you Falvine
  9. why aren't we signing Marwin Gonzalez? I get it Derek let your first love (the Indians) have him. jeeze. you guys are clowns!
  10. we'll be in contention but the back end of the bullpen and rotation will get exposed and it will be ugly.
  11. Im not changing my view, we were lucky to ever have had him. Agreed he's not going into the hall of fame but I am glad I got to watch him play for us. God Bless you Michael Cuddyer.
  12. I love your post! Man the numbers dont show it but down the stretch in '06 Garza was CLUTCH!. I think i heard he had some little personality clash with Gardenhire that led to his ticket outta here but not sure. We can rehash the bad moves and the what ifs all we want but that whole era doesnt happen without the Pierzynski for Nathan/Bonser/Liriano trade. To be that good for that long doesnt happen without an elite closer. Are you listening Derek n Thad?
  13. I'm not sure this will affect Buxton's development. My take on his comments are that the feelings of comararderie with his "brothers" as he calls them will not let it affect his efforts on the field. Team Chemistry is as real as Anal-lytics. Buck has tight bondsn with Rosario, Sano, Polanco, Kepler, Garver, Berrios and many others who came up in a similar wave. Im not sure we should be doing wrong things just because other teams do it, but this could light a fire under Buxton that burns hot until October not because of Falvine but in spite of them.
  14. Until the need for 13 pitchers rears its ugly head why not have Adrianza, Gonzalez, Garver/Castro and either Cave or Astudillo on the bench. I think we already all know that Austin will be DFA-ed. They should be cool and do it now so he can go to Spring Training fresh. Gonzalez is gonna play every day, so the bench will be in constant state of flexibility. All the possible suitors for him are disappearing fast(Yankees, A's, Mets, Phillies, Nationals)
  15. What a Great Twin he was and what an honorit was to watch him play for us. I would just like to say Thank you "Mr Magic" You are one of the things I refer to when i talk about the "Twins Way" You played anywhere we needed you to and you were a model citizen and a Class guy! God Bless you.
  16. Versatile infielder that either switch hits or bats left + solid proven closer or back end bull pen guy+ proven veteran left handed starter = + 15 wins....Simple
  17. Id like to see us take a run at Marwin Gonzalez. Having him on the roster means you can keep 13 pitchers, Garver, Astudillo, and Austin on the bench.(okay not Astudillo) If Marwin plays every day, and he should, Cron, Sano, Rosario, Kepler, Buxton, Schoop, and Polanco could each get one day off a week. Use the restf of the money for a veteran lefty starter and a proven closer and our payroll is about 120 million.
  18. Actually i do have a plan. Marwin Gonzalez would be my first choice. Now you dont need to keep Cave or Adrianza on the 25 man roster. If he is gone there is still Moustakas, Dietrich, Harrison(not lh) or Asdrubal Cabrera. Available starters are Gio Gonzalez, Wade Miley, or Clay Bucholz, and in the pen i would add Cody Allen and Tony Sipp. I did not say 95 wins, I said 9/-95...most pears 90 wins gets you a playoff berth.
  19. Bucholz would be good...I like the idea of a couple veteran lefties to compete for that last spot and let Mejia have some company as a lefty starter. Miley, Gio Gonzalez , and Derek Holland would be good. I still think we are a back end bullpen guy away from anyone taking us seriously. If you could get Buch and one of those leftys on a minor league tryout deal I'd be happy with our rotation.
  20. Yeah me either but Astusdillo is great i agree. Castro is going to be the guy cuz of his contract. As an injury replacement guy Williams is priceless, plus i think he has at least one more option year. Tyler Austin we hardly knew ya.
  21. is it just me or is it kind of silly to add a bunch of power bats then refuse to upgrade 1-2 bullpen spots, at least one starter or a left handed bat that can be insurance if Sano flakes out again? We can leave it alone and be a .500 team, or address the obvious and win 90-95. Simple.
  22. what about a proven lefty starter? Gio, Wade Miley, or Keuchel? I still wanna see us get a utility guy a la M.Gonzalez, or even Dietrich...2-3 more moves is not out if the question
