  1. Pretty much agree except maybe for Cron. I’m not opposed to bringing him back but I think it depends on whether the FO might consider moving Sano to first. Their moves aren’t tempered just for now but also how it impacts the future.
  2. Ditto. Outside of Buxton these are the players that got us here. They have plenty of flexibility. Of the injured Adrianza has the most concern of being ready, but apparently they feel he is. The time off may have helped Gibson and I’m fine with him on the staff. Don’t need any more lefties and he could be a decent 1-2 inning RP against the right handed Yankees. And IIRC Gibby seems to do ok against the Yanks and his ground ball tendencies should play well.
  3. I hope have a great time and karmas is with the Twins. Wish I cpu;d make the 4 hr trip. Will be there in spirit. Putting it on my bucket list as I know there will more opportunities.
  4. Great story Seth, thanks. Mitch seems to be a great example of the potential of these Twins for years to come. I look forward to enjoying this team for years as Mitch and others lead the change of the Twins culture to hard work and winning ways
  5. Again thanks Nick! Regarding Lewis, it always makes us happy that our team is recognized by various outlets and rankings. However, I've come to grips with a meh attitude on such anymore. Maybe I'm a grumpy old man, maybe for sure, but I care more about what really matters - their contribution to the Twins system. Plus, I'll believe TD's take before most of the others and trust the our FO and the others are closer to the real value of the players.
  6. Great recap. It would be interesting to see the average length of those Bomba’s, and especially compared to NY’s average. I’d bet our beloved have outpaced them there too.
  7. Enjoyed the read and list. Just a suggestion-it would be interesting to see the runner-up listed also. Nevertheless thanks for this.
  8. Doc’s “victim of expectations” and mickeymental’s “human, not machine” sums up my thoughts. Some of the comments I’ve seen on the game posts, IMHO, have been mean and nasty. It seems we often have expectations of perfection of professional athletes and forget they struggle in life like all of us. The human is a complex creature, not like a programmed robot. And Nick, thank you for reminding all of us his history to this point in his career. While I get frustrated with his pace and nibbling, I have also thought he was an important part of our staff. I hope he can get his condition under control and built his strength and i’d be happy to see him back next year or two.
  9. Thanks for the analysis. I look forward to your weekly updates. The AFL attracts my interest each fall. Maybe that’s because the Twins season is done, but not this year. So I’ll get my fill of more baseball this fall.
  10. Thanks Nick for these summaries. Good stuff. Regarding the SP for the playoffs, is there much of a chance the Dobnak or Littel might slot into #3 or 4, even as a combo?
  11. How many games will he miss next year, 40 or less? I’d sign him and it might be at a bargain price b/c of the suspension and his comments. I tend to be a forgiving person and believe people most of the time until proven wrong. So, at this point, I take him at his word. Still a young man that hopefully matures with this experience. He has always had good potential and we saw some of that this year. Right now I’m torn between Odorizzi and Gibson, but we should bring back one of them. Leaning toward Odo. Then I hope the FO goes after a good FA. Cole would be great, but I’d also take Wheeler. We have some good young options to audition the first 6 weeks or so also, with Graterol the most exciting. If we could accomplish this I’d be really excited about the season.
  12. Thanks for reminding me that last week had some really good things that happened. It's just that hit below the belt (Pineda) and the mounting injuries that makes me feel like it's been raining all week.
  13. (FYI, I see Kepler is going to have an MRI on his shoulder that's been bothering him for a while now. It looks like the OF is falling like the leaves in October.) Now for Lamarre, I look at him as temporary fill to get a better feel on the impact of all the injuries. Also, Kiriloff is in the playoffs right now and with him not being on the 40 man or need to be, that he will complete that first. It is possible that he could be added to the 40 man and brought up after the Wahoo's playoffs and eventually be on the Twins Oct roster. I think if they are hurting for quality OF's that's what I'd do.
  14. Like the others I give kudos to all of you for these reports. All of us really appreciate the work done so we can keep up to date on the MiLB players. It’s the first or second read every morning for me. Great Job!!!!!
  15. While I've been a little surprised by Kepler's numbers, Garver is the most surprising considering the playing time. It's hard to stay sharp when not playing daily and he's been a terror all year. You didn't ask but I think Buxton will follow suit in 2020.
  16. Personally I believe Schoop will be gone and Cron signed for another year or two. Depending on trades Gordon, if still here, will be in AAA ready to be called up. I also believe Pineda should be signed and go after a good FA. Then, either Gibson or Odorizzi signed if available at a reasonable rate.
  17. That is something that he completely acknowledges. Don't know where I read it, but Harper said he was not able to adjust as the hitters adjusted to his offerings. Mentally, an excellent approach. Now can he do it?
  18. It seems to me the offense is either hot or absent. What I’ve noticed is when the offense is on they are forcing the pitcher into long counts. When there not, they are seeing < 3 pitches per bat. I may be wrong on this, but when the opposition is forcing our pitchers into long counts (which is another issue) our offense should not be swinging at the first pitch. All data can be skewed by individual performance. Is this team/coaching staff able to make adjustments appropriate to the situation? That’s my biggest concern - the ability to adjust when required.
  19. First, NO ONE should EVER be thrown at on purpose in baseball. That just reeks of poor sportsmanship. Now regarding this unwritten rule, my questions is when it kicks in. Given the HUGE innings that seems to be normal, what lead is safe? Anyone remember in in 2017 when the Twins were leading the Astros 8-2, and they scored 11 runs in one inning on the way to a 16-8 win? This whole "rule" reeks of poor sportsmanship by those who randomly use it and those that allow it to be used, IMHO.
  20. While I don't like giving up a 11.5 game lead, is it likely that the Indians will continue playing at a .719 clip, as they have since June 2nd? At the same token will this team continue the .517 clip they've had during the same period? Yes I have concerns and all could go to ashes, but this is still a very good team. The Twins had their great run out of the gate and the Indians mid-season. With 46 games left, anything can happen. I'll enjoy the run with a bit of confidence, and hope, that the Twins return to playing as they can. It's going to take 95 wins ob to win this thing.
  21. This may be a whacky thought, but is it possible that Johnson has been working with May on something and he's not quite there yet, thus the lack of use?
  22. Am impressed with the maturity of Enlow. Moves are hard on most people, but if it provides better opportunity then it is easier. After all the goal is the “Show.”
