Wonder how the TBD for tonight's pitching will be set up.

Rosario should be benched as a sign of Rocco's displeasure with his poor recent play. His body language speaks of someone who doesn't care and he needs to know that is not acceptable.

We have not won anything yet. Chicago and KC have given us tussles before. While it certainly looks great, I take nothing for granted.

Excellent article. It makes me wonder as to how hard the Twins will try to hang on to certain free agent starters and how willing they might be to go with the farm hands, at least by the middle of 2020.

Maybe I worry too much, but to my way of thinking we do not have a spot clinched for the playoffs and certainly not the division championship. I have seen too many teams fold down the end to take anything for granted.

If Berrios continues his current August form I would not start him in the playoffs. Perez, Pineda and Odo look the best right now. Not sure what to do with Berrios if September is like August. Relief??

I maintain that Berrios is worn out and needs a 10 IL reprise. His velocity is not as good as it was earlier in the year. Maybe they should focus on him becoming a 5 inning pitcher like Odo and just throw 94-95 instead of 91-93. His command is off too. He was lucky to get out of the first 2 innings with no runs given up. He is giving up way too many hits. As for Harper, I think he should be sent down for the rest of the year. It was fun while it lasted for him this year.

Front Page: Is It Time To Platoon C.J. Cron?
Richard Swerdlick replied to John Bonnes's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Cron's play is sure a reminder that a baseball season is a marathon and not a sprint. He provided quality play in the first half of the season. I am guessing he won't be back next year. It appears time to start phasing him out. Could be a useful bat off the bench for now, or perhaps they should let him go. -
I think that Falvine are building a young pitching core in the minors that we will be seeing much of in the next year or two. Cleveland currently has 3 pitchers in their starting rotation who were drafted in 2016. Should be fun to watch the future unfold.

Nice to see Jonathan Schoop get a clutch hit. Also, I wonder what Odo's ERA is for just the 6th inning of each game. I bet it isn't pretty. He reminds me of the Big Red Machine's Don Gullett who was a great pitcher but a 5 inning pitcher.

Maybe Polanco is showing us that he really belongs at 2nd base and not at shortstop.

I agree about signing Pineda and Odo. Gibson is a great person, but a mediocre pitcher. Time for a youth movement and some free agents.

It seems obvious to me that in watching Eddie run the bases he is not fully healed from his ankle injury. That must be affecting his play in the outfield as well.

I would like to see Tyler Duffey trust his fast ball more and just mix in the off speed stuff. When his fastball is clicking and he is using it a lot he can be really tough.

Cleveland is now only 6 games back. It wasn't that long ago that everyone assumed we were a lock for the division. That series with Cleveland right after the all star break looms large. I see that Andrew Vasquez has been taken off the 40 man roster. I wonder if they are getting ready to put Brent Rooker on the 40 man.
