  1. I dunno man. I'm not sure the SS could really do any more on that play. The outfielder probably should have called him off, but it's impossible to assume a catch from either defender. My take: I've seen worse plays ruled hits. Grossman was extremely lucky there.
  2. These 2 runs seem like 12 right now, they've been so few and far between. I'd like a few more, considering Lance's history. Escobar seems to have fallen off a cliff.
  3. The only thing that can be done is to hope the guys playing start hitting. Or maybe a statement move like firing Molitor or the hitting coach.
  4. He's only been on base like 3 times since he got back. But yeah I believe he stole a base against Detroit last week.
  5. Three curveball strikeout for Sano. He's looking very overweight, pretty sure that month-long layoff didn't help.
  6. I was just thinking the same thing! The Twins called up Romero for a shot-in-the-arm, and maybe to send a message. Why not do the same on offense? I suppose there's some old baseball adage that says hitters take longer to adjust, etc. But I dunno, look what Rhys Hoskins did in Philly last year. Call up a guy who can swing the stick and don't look back.
  7. Agreed, this is the kind of stuff that sticks in your craw when things are going poorly. I got another example: I was watching the game Saturday night on MLB.TV. I hadn't seen Friday's game, and MLB.TV doesn't include any pregame stuff. So when the teams marched out with these weird uniforms, I was immediately curious. Dick didn't say anything, Bert didn't say anything, and I was waiting for anyone to explain to me why the heck they were all dressed like that. I gave up, and eventually just assumed it was some kind of military tribute re: Memorial Day. I was irrationally angry about the whole situation, all because the Twins can't hit and in the process of getting swept.
  8. Twins offense explodes for 3 runs! Criminal effort in the 6th by Odorizzi giving the lead right back. Hard to fault the bullpen, this one's on the offense, again. Buxton gets hurt because he's trying too hard to make impossible plays in order to justify his place in the lineup. This team is a mess.
  9. I don't think he's going to start hitting until August again, but the the last thing the Twins want to do is start the AAA yo-yo. It's an absolutely terrible situation for the Twins because you're damned if you do and damned if you don't. This team cannot hit. It's embarrassing to watch and very depressing.
  10. I'd love to see a 7-run outburst tonight. Let's see some spark from the offense.
  11. I also think he was out - based on watching the play live it seemed the ball beat him there and perhaps he got swiped before his back leg came down. But I also agree with you that the call should not have been overturned. You couldn't see on the replay when exactly his back leg touched the plate. Essentially his leg was over the plate and the replay officials decided to make a guess and just assume his leg wasn't touching the plate at the time. Seems crazy to overturn a call based on an assumption, rather than video proof.
  12. No, I wouldn't. We Twins fans get pretty down on guys like Sano, Mauer, Buxton and Dozier when they are struggling...articles like these are pretty commonplace. Sano is one of the premier young power hitters in baseball. You don't trade him for a catching prospect. You keep him and only trade him in a contract year if you're rebuilding, and you cash in with a bunch of young arms. He's way better than you're giving him credit for.
  13. I also heard "DO YOUR JOB!" from that guy too, before he walked back and softened his approach and became more encouraging.
  14. Can anyone here the guy yapping to Morrison? Is that a coach or just a guy in the stands who's been overserved?
  15. I feel like I'm about to be let down. C'mon Logan, fly ball.
  16. OMG Twins man on 3rd 1 out, please please get a run home here.
  17. Question: if this goes to the 9th tied, do the Twins PH for Buxton with Cave?
  18. I agree. That said, we're all pretty frustrated and venting about how terrible he looks right now doesn't mean we dislike or want to give up on Bux. It's just really, really hard to watch someone play this poorly and say positive things.
