  1. It is interesting how Sledgers comes up, throws a great game, and is never to be heard from again. Whereas, some washout on a minimum contract like Gee throws a good game, and gets a five start leash.
  2. I'd feel a lot better if we could get Buxton and Sano back in the lineup.
  3. A lot of people still talk about him in hypotheticals. A 1.000 OPS (since July 1) combined with historically good defense is MVP caliber baseball. He's sustained that for 2+ months now. It's getting real. Throw in the baserunning/steals. Oh, and he's 23. It really is too bad that some people refuse to enjoy this. This guy is special, and he'll be a Twin for a long time.
  4. I'll take Sano in my team all day long. He has the potential to be one of the more potent offensive threats in baseball. It's become fashionable to tell people how to feel, what they can say, and how they should live their life. Virtue signaling is something that is done constantly (everything from retweets, to posts, etc). That's all part of this. It's as much an article pointed at "I'm going to tell you how to be righteous," than a sports peice. That pompous twit. Maybe I'm wrong, but I feel like there was a time in the not so distant past in which Sano was appreciated for what he was
  5. This may have been mentioned, or maybe it's wrong, but did they really only record 1 K, and not until the 9th? And they only gave up 1 run? Interesting.
  6. Tonight was a great display of just how Buxton can take over a game without even swinging a bat. He's turning into quite the player. Watching him progress this year has been awesone.
  7. Yep, it's pretty ridiculous that the guy making the most on the team, and maybe the best natural hitter on the team, wasn't in the lineup consider all of the injuries. You're in the middle of the playoff race, and needed a win. I just don't get it. Is into really too much to ask for a 33-34 year old guy to stand at 1B and hit against Derek Holland? This isn't the NFL. He does need days off, but we don't need to he carried away here. That, along with Garver at 1B, instead of a guy with some real experience there, is ridiculous. Molitor needs to quit turning a kids game into rocket science.
  8. Park seems to be heating up. Might be useful for some RH power down the stretch if Sano doesn't return soon.
  9. That leg kick is pretty wild. It'll be interesting to see the approach to his mechanics under the new regime. What an exciting player.
  10. Still irritated about game 1. Looking back, between the Detroit walkoff debacle because of the refusal to address the bullpen in the offseason (putting the numerous other losses early aside for now) and yesterday's game 1....they may be the difference between the playoffs and not. They really should be 3.5 back if the Indians, .5 back of Yankees, and 2.5 ahead of the Angels. That is a huge difference. That's why I never understand the reluctance to call up prospects that can help, etc early in the year. Every game is important, could be the difference, and out of respect for the fans paying their salary, and taxpayers who payed for their stadium, should be treated as such.
  11. That's an awful game to lose. First, it was thrown away by management by throwing two independent league guys who have no business on an MLB diamond. That's the worst of it for me. Today's starter wasn't pitching in an MLB system at this time last year. It's mind boggling to me. Second, the players dribble multiple bases loaded situations with less than two outs (as they've done all year). Also, they played the worst baseball team in the league tonight. They traded like 6 guys away, and are a bunch of prospects. I went from being optimistic about this team, to convinced that they're not going anywhere in about 3 hours. Too many games have been meaninglessly thrown away this year. Drives me nuts how these execs and managers try to turn a kids game into rocket science and punt games.
  12. Man, who could've ever seen this coming? They're basically punting games with these independent league pitchers. Really irritating when you've been waiting a freaking decade for competent baseball.
  13. He's thrown one bad game in a year. The current Twins starters put up starts like that multiple times in a week. How does that change anything? If they're running independent leaguers out there to get demolished, how can one think it's a bad idea to give Gonsalves a start. The paradigm that if a player has a bad start in the majors, as opposed to the minors, ruins his career is absurd.
  14. I watched the game yesterday. He had to get 3 hits in a game to get his average over .200. Still the worst hitter in the AL.
  15. Giminez batting 5th? Let me get this straight: We're fighting for our playoff lives and we're pitching Tim Melville and Dillon Gee....and Chris Gimenez is batting 5th? I don't care if the pitches with his left leg....Chris Gimenez might be he worst hitter in the AL right now.
  16. ...and then Minnesota happens: Sano to the DL. But, hey, it was a fun year.
  17. Awesome win. Sweeping the D-Backs is a pretty righteous thing. But, a quick turnaround for a double header in Chicago with Melville and Gee starting, two of those games could be lost quickly. How fun is it right now watching winning baseball?
  18. That was a great game to watch. If Sano's mammoth bombs were indication of him hitting another power surge, this lineup is a nightmare for opposing pitchers.
