  1. Kirilloff will push Miranda more than Larnach. As long as Buxton is not playing or DHing every third day, Celestino will get plenty of PAs.
  2. Right, but that's why he'll get ample opportunity.
  3. I imagine that he'll get ample opportunity. Nobody is really pushing him all that much, yet.
  4. He's leading the team in WAR too, so he must be doing something right. I do agree with the K's though.
  5. Wasn't he regarded as the best defensive SS in the organization? Seems legit if so.
  6. Dazzle made it sound like that HR was sent into orbit.
  7. The team would still be on the hook for his salary regardless. Another team can pick him up for the league minimum. And he's got an option for next season, which will likely be declined anyway.
  8. Larnach leads the team in DRS? Wouldn't have guessed that either. Larnach really is flying under the radar.
  9. I'm using the word ambiguously for a reason. It'll be interesting to see how long they leave him on assignment and what they do with him once he's done with it.
  10. Dazzle talking about Sano is slated to start a rehab assignment in a few weeks. That could become interesting.
  11. You cannot stop Luis Arraez. You can only hope to contain him.
  12. Perkins singing praises for Angel Hernandez on the radio.
  13. I'm still worried that the lefties may too. He's not faced a lineup this good yet.
  14. Palacios gets an atta boy! Congratulations on your first big league RBI!
  15. Agreed. If Celestino and Gordon can have good days at the plate, I like the Twins chances. They've got to avoid the K though. That does have me a bit concerned.
  16. Welcome to the Game Thread, Sunday morn edition, where we'll discuss all things not being math and politics. This series has been a mixed bag thus far. Friday night showcased the Twins team that we know and love. Saturday's tilt featured the Twins team that we know and love but aren't quite sure of why. It's likely that we'll see one of those two teams in today's matinee rubber match. On the hill today, Devin Smeltzer looks to continue to show that he belongs in the rotation. Gilberto Celestino returns to the starting lineup to help him out. It'll be interesting to see how Smeltzer's stuff fares against a good lineup like Toronto's. After a short outing by Bundy yesterday, the bullpen could use a deeper start today. Opposite Smeltzer will be Kevin Gausman, who has recorded 70 K's in his 61 IP this season. This will be interesting to watch since Toronto pitchers were able to strike out 15 Twins yesterday, lead by Jose Berrios' 13. He also went 7 full, so their pen is better rested. Helping him will be a few spawn of former big leaguers. Here's to hoping we see more of Friday's Twins and less of yesterday's Twins... Today's contestants, listed in order of batting, are: For the visiting Twins: DH - Arraez C - Sanchez 2B - Polanco 3B - Urshela RF - Larnach 1B - Miranda CF - Celestino LF - Gordon SS - Palacios For the hosting Jays: CF - Springer SS - Bichette 1B - Guerrero Jr RF - Hernandez DH - Kirk 3B - Chapman 2B - Espinal LF - Gurriel Jr C - Jansen
  17. Triple up Toronto's run output...as expected.

    Just baseball being baseball.

What ... the fresh raspberries and ice cream part?

      Yes, that part!

I specifically didn't order dessert with my pizza because I didn't want to be tempted!

Haha!  I just earned the Paparazzi badge on that.  Seems fitting somehow that it was for a dessert post!

  18. I vote @Puckett34 does the remainder of the season. The repercussions are too great to not take this route.
  19. If there's a more trustworthy bloke than Red Green, I'd love to meet them!
  20. You'll need reading glasses before that link will be useful, I'm afraid. Also, I'm just going with what our esteemed thread opener has stated. Who am I to question them?
