  1. Fielding error on the first play of the game is a nice start.
  2. Don't blame you there. I wouldn't either. I'm heading to the North Shore this weekend. Highs in the low 70s. I'll take that any day.
  3. For what it's worth, the temp is 84 with a dew point of 64 currently in Mpls. Not my idea of comfortable! @Vanimal46, hard to miss Texas with weather like this?
  4. Despite all craziness over the last month or so, this team finds itself in 1st place and gaining a bit of ground. Cleveland seems to be regressing and Chicago can't get out of their own way. Looking forward to this last sprint to the AS break.
  5. He may be a top 3 player now, but what about down the road? That's where I'm looking. I think Lewis will be the better player overall. Which is why I chose him over Arraez. And half of the position player roster are corner types where none are demonstrably better than the other aside from Kirilloff. You can maybe make a case for Larnach too, but I'm not going to yet. You can't say that about Arraez. Arraez's best positions are manned by guys that aren't going to be unseated. Polanco is a better all around player, in my opinion, so he's not going anywhere. Urshela is a much better glove and will be the every day 3B. While Arraez is capable at 1B, that won't be his long term home.
  6. Won't disagree with any of that, that's just not who I'd prioritize to build around. To each their own. That's why this is a good talker.
  7. Not one that doesn't have a position in the field and isn't a great defender anyway. Sure, he can DH, but I don't really want to build a team around a DH.
  8. He's certainly less risky, I wasn't arguing anything differently. But he's had his fair share of injury shortened seasons as well. He's not without risk though.
  9. Correa has only played more than 110 games twice in his career. If you're worried about injury, he's not exactly the poster child of health either.
  10. I would. I think Lewis can be that level of a game changer. I like Arraez quite a bit, but I don't think you can build a team around him.
  11. Leave it to the bullpen to ruin a perfectly good spread. I guess it's true when they say they ruin everything.
  12. I'd go Buxton, Kirilloff, Ryan and Duran if we're needing to include a reliever. Without any sort of "requirements", I'd swap Lewis for Duran.
  13. I forgot about Garlick...which probably tells me something... And as @Squirrelsaid, it's probably the most reasonable. Also the most prudent. It's perhaps a bit unfair to base a decision like that on just a rehab stint. You just have to hope that he doesn't hurt the team too much in the process.
  14. 1: I voted 3-4, but think it's 4 or 5. I voted 4 because 4.5 wasn't an option. 2: Bullpen and quality of opponents 3: bullpen, bats gaining consistency and production from youth. 4: they're going to bring in a few bullpen arms, perhaps a starter. they can probably use a bat, but I don't think they'll get one
  15. This is kind of along the lines of my thought process as well. The issue I run into is that I think that they're a better team now than with Good Sano, generally speaking. I also don't know who'd be sent down. I'd lean Miranda only because he's an infield corner guy. He doesn't really deserve it, but could probably benefit some time in St. Paul to polish a few things defensively himself. Kirilloff can play the outfield and a good 1B and his bat is taking off. And as you touched on, how long do you ride Good Sano until he turns back into a pumpkin? Best case scenario in my mind is that Sano has a really good rehab stint that the team showcases and deals him, likely needing to eat the salary. I think he can still be a serviceable major league player, but I don't think it'll be here. And I'm at the point where I don't think it even SHOULD be here. The team has filled in pretty well without him.
  16. This type of game is what I expected to see regularly this season. Not so much the losing part necessarily, but a slugfest. At least they took the series. Keep winning series, and they'll be hard to catch.
  17. Be sure to do your pregame warmups and that wouldn't happen!
  18. A certain Moody Blues song comes to mind watching this game.
  19. Oh, well, in that case, he's not even close to ready let alone doubly so!
  20. Polanco with an even better, yet not quite as immediate, response! I like that as well!
