This week on the show our friend from North Dakota, Cody, is taking the week off to focus on the youth of the greater Fargo area. What a noble man he is. The rest of us forge ahead without him to discuss the news that needs discussing.

    E. Rolf openly laments everything and anything that the Twins can, have, or will do to make 2015 a success, all the while remaining overly optomisitc that this week's Down on the Pond player, Tyler Grimes, will one day see time with the big league ball club. Hope springs eternal!

Jay declares our podcast to be world famous. Which may or may not be true, but Paul lives in Seattle, which is practically Canada, so that's probably good enough for us.

This week we wonder aloud who will be the Twins 5th starter, whether the Twins offense can be as good as it was last season, and whether the bullpen for this ball club is a strength or a weakness.

    Thanks for listening.

This week we make some New Year's resolutions on behalf of the Twins, to include Joe Mauer, Aaron Hicks and prayers for something (ANYTHING!) resembling a starting pitcher not named Phil Hughes.

In this week's reviewing the roster segment, we take a look at the 2014 contributions of Caleb Thielbar, Ricky Nolasco and Oswaldo Arcia. We prognosticate on what 2015 will bring for the three and whether they will be a big part, or no part, of the 2015 Twins team.

When we go Down on the Pond we discuss the future potential of minor league short stop Engelb Vielma, who played last season with low-A Ceder Rapids. Will he become the next great Twins star, or even crack the big league roster?

And finally we spend more time than it probably deserved discussing the 2015 Hall of Fame balloting, elections and snubs.

    Enjoy the show.

Phil Hughes renegotiated a contract adding three more years to his deal and keeping him in Minnesota through 2019. This was such a momentous occasion that we asked the Twins Hangouts fellas, Seth Stohs and Jeremy Nygaard, to join us.

I'll warn you up front that E Rolf had his potty mouth out again, and that the beer was flowing on the podcast, so if you have children, or sensitive grandparents in the room, you may want to go elsewhere to listen.

We talk about Phil's new contract, and try to figure out exactly what the Twins acquisition of Tim Stauffer means for the organization going into 2015. For starters it means that Eric Fryer has been removed from the 40-man roster, but that might not be such a bad thing, depending on who you ask.

We discuss the recent minor league manager assignments, and some other minor league news before jumping into our winter series reviewing the roster. This week we take a look at Casey Fien, Lester Oliveros and Eduardo Escobar.

Thanks for listening and enjoy our show.

This week the gang talks about Ervin Santana, the Rule Five Draft, and what the Twins rotation will look like to start the year. The guys were joined by TwinsDaily's Jeremy Nygaard to talk about who JR Graham is, and what the Twins lost in Sean Gilmartin and Matt Tomshaw (THE THING!).
The episode wraps up with beer, baseball, and the news.

This week we keep it short, under an hour, to discuss the new additions to the Twins coaching staff. It's just Jay (The master of underscores) and Paul this week, and they both started the podcast a couple of beers in trying to shake the remnants of a Thanksgiving Hangover. A little hair of the dog. Or just a good excuse to drink beers and talk baseball.

While the Pleiss twins frolic around the Pacific northwest in a celebratory stupor, Cody and Jay navigate through a gauntlet of hot stove chatter, 2015 speculation, free agent courtships and all in all manage just fine without the twins.

On the one-hundred and eighth episode of Talk to Contact, the boys were joined by Nick Nelson (@NNelson9) from TwinsDaily to talk about the movement of bloggers from their mothers' basements to the mainstream in the past several years. We also talk about Paul Molitor's coaching staff, and what we think about Gene Glynn at third base and Rudy Hernandez as the assistant hitting coach.

Of course our hosts are drinking beer, and they spend the last segment on the podcast discussing Mike Trout and Clayton Kershaw winning the AL and NL MVP awards. We even wonder who would win the MLB MVP award if we had to combine things all into one.

Thanks for listening and enjoy our show.

We're also joined by Bill Parker (@Bill_TPA) to talk about the Twins' roster and some potential free agent targets to help fill in the 2015 roster.
As always, we chat about beer, baseball, and the news. I forgot to ask Bill on air what he was drinking, be he assures me it was a Laguntas Little Sumpin' Sumpin', so there's that!

In addition to our North Dakotan flare, we talk about the ongoing Twins manager search, what it means that no one will go to games in 2015 at Target Field, and way too much about Aaron Hicks.

Eric also has a moment of clarity talking about beer that changes his life, and of course, beer, baseball, and the news.

93 minutes of blues and baseball.

The Royals and the Giants are playing for baseball's biggest prize and we're all sitting around talking about Paul Molitor, Torey Lovullo and Doug Mientkiewicz and how to build a coaching staff when your new manager has never been the skipper in the big leagues.

    http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-JcIauocHqno/VEo12aLmSMI/AAAAAAAAJSA/60UAABTITFg/s1600/maulpolitor.jpeg

We also revisited the Twins payroll situation with half of our team back from a week long hiatus.

Down on the Pond we talked all about Eddie Rosario and the differences between what he's doing in the Arizona Fall League this autumn and what he did all year long in the Minor Leagues.

Of course we finish with beer, baseball, and the news.

    65 minutes of postseason fun.

Just Paul and Eric on the podcast this week, a throwback to the days before Cody and Jay joined the team, and the brothers spent time talking about the Twins payroll, their indifference to the winter free agency period, and of course, beer, baseball, and the news.

We then talk about Terry Ryan's future. Not to be just nagging on the Twins for another 90+ loss season, we spend some time chatting about the best Twins hitter, pitcher, and fielder of 2014 before talking beer, baseball, and the news.Go Twins!

Lots of chatter about the end of the season, what to look forward to in 2015, and how the Twins might go about finding a new manager, if they ever get around to getting rid of their current one. Then plenty of the regular beer, baseball, and the news. Thanks for listening, folks!

Welp, we made it to 100 episodes. Thank you to everyone that has listened to us ramble over the past two years. We've come a long way from Episode 1 and we're happy to have you along for the ride. Along the way we picked up a couple of hitch hikers in Cody Christie and Jay Corn, and we have fun every week talking Twins baseball.
This week we talk about Trevor May, Phil Hughes and Ricky Nolasco, who all turned in strong performances, and we talk about the trio of Danny Santana, Oswaldo Arcia, and Kennys Vargas forming a young core of talent for future Twins teams.
We spend some time Down on the Pond talking about the most productive Minor League seasons in the Twins system.
Before we sign off we gave Jay time to wax poetic about Derek Jeter as he comes upon the end of his career (sparked by this new ad) and we wrap up Episode 100 talking about beer.
Thank you again for listening to us ramble, and be sure to check out Egon's Unicat, who have been providing us music for the podcast the entire time we've been around!
    You are all awesome!

There hasn't been a lot of good things to talk about with this ball club. That doesn't mean we don't have things to talk about, and we even got into a couple of spirited conversations this week, most notably about the coaching staff and their uncertain future in Minnesota. Mike Trout and the league leading Angels came to town and swept our hometown heroes, but at least Target Field faithful were reminded what winning baseball looks like. The Twins released their minor league hitting coordinator, Bill Springman. What does that mean, if anything, going forward? The front office cited "organizational differences" which could mean just about anything and everything. We speculate exactly what it means. We also talk about Jay Corn's adventure with beer steins, and the upcoming MN Oktoberfest. And don't forget about the Helmet challenge happening on Monday the 15th at Target Field.

The calendar has turned over, September is here, kids are going back to school and some of the Twins minor leaguers have arrived in Minnesota. Paul, Jay and Cody discuss the eight September call ups, the departure of Sam Deduno and the Trevor May's first career MLB victory. E Rolf has abandonded the podcast crew this week, instead opting to drink beer at Target Field. We can't blame him. In fact, we invite you to join him and Jay at Target Field on September 15th when the Twins take on the Tigers to participate in the Target Field Helmet Challenge. Tickets are currently available on the interwebz for $3!Cody created a fun before and after game, a la Wheel of Fortune, which is then followed by all the usual fun stuff, beers, and Japanese High School baseball games that go on for 50 innings.

The Twins scored a whole bunch of runs in the last week, and have one of the top five offenses in the American League, if only they had a pitching staff to match. This week we swoon over the future of the Twins, talk a little bit about the young players on the Twins roster, and Jay tries to troll Eric into going on another Paul Molitor rant (and fails, sort of). Then the regular beer, baseball, and the news. Enjoy the show.

This week on the podcast we are joined by the great Rob Neyer (https://twitter.com/robneyer (@robneyer), http://robneyer.com/, http://www.foxsports.com/mlb/just-a-bit-outside) a real baseball writing celebrity. Also on this episode is Eric's potty mouth. You've been warned. We discuss why we hate the teams we hate and then jump into all of the Twins news from the last week. Most of it involves pitchers, and most of those pitchers have been bad. But not Joe Mauer. Joe Mauer has been vintage Joe Mauer. Tune in for all the fun.

We discuss Trevor May's debut, the departure of Josh Willingham and Kevin Correia and what those moves mean for the organization and the youth movement happening in Minnesota. We're joined by Brad Swanson (@Bridman77) from the Twins blog Kevin Slowey was Framed (http://smartpitcher.blogspot.com/) to talk about Eduardo Escobar and Twins players heads photo-shopped onto animal bodies (WHAT?! YES!).We finally get around to answering the expansion draft question submitted last week by former listener of the week, John. Which 15 players would you protect? Send us your list to talktocontact@gmail.com.We wrap things up by going around the league to talk about the 1st place Royals, everyone being injured, and what the 1994 season might have given us had it not been for the strike.

After a week off, we're back and making podcast magic! This week we discuss the roster moves that happened surrounding the trade deadline, and talk about how the Twins are going to put a roster together when Joe Mauer returns. We muse ont he future of Ron Gardenhire and who is going to manage the Twins in the future. We talk about some of the young taelnt coming through the organization and how everything could fit together. Plus we do the regular - beer, baseball, and the news.

This week on the podcast Paul learns about ground rule triples, and strangely enough, if does not include TC Bear going on a rampage with his T-shirt gun (but we'd pay good money to see that happen). The Twins offense has struggled to score runs recently (what's new?) and Joe Mauer is still working his way back from injury. The scholarship program is over in Minnesota (again) as Matt Guerrier was DFA'd to make room for roster worthy Ryan Pressly. Ron Gardenhire passed another managerial milestone, 1000 losses, pretty neat, you guys. How does he still have a job? All of this good news and an interview with Jason "Professor" Parks from Baseball Prospectus to talk Twins minor leaguers and a suitable explanation of what exactly "rig" is/means.

For the first time ever we only had one Talk to Contact co-host available for a podcast. Stepping out into unfamiliar territory Eric managed to build a 40 minute podcast that wasn't terrible. He talked about Twins news from the past week, including Brian Dozier hilariously being added to the Home Run Derby, and talked a lot about what is going on with the pitching staff down in AAA Rochester.
He did the regular beer, news and internet segments, but as a thank you for listening to him babble for 40 minutes, he recorded a special audio production of Patrick Dubuque's Waiting 'til Next Year for Godot.
I hope you enjoy this special episode.
