    As someone that appreciates stats quite a bit, BA is still one of the first things a look at. There's a reason it's the first thing listed in a triple slash line. If "stats geeks" didn't like it, they wouldn't keep using it. Arraez is great. I hope he's with the team for a long, long time. He's a special player.

    I also think Kirilloff is going to be something special. I love my prospects as much as the next guy, and it would take a heck of a deal to make me consider trading AK, but almost no one is untouchable, for the right price.

    Ugh. Can we stop with the cheap Pohlad for one thread please? This has nothing to do with saving money. This is about making sure AK is fully healthy and there is a spot for him to get ABs (I also think there are ABs for him). There is a small roster crunch, but these things work themselves out. Kirilloff is the casualty of that roster crunch at the moment. The crunch will be over when (if?) they limit the rosters to 13 pitchers, or someone else gets hurt/starts playing poorly. I think he should be up as well, but giving him another week to show that the wrist is not bothering him isn't that big of a deal.

    He's still fun on occasion, but he's an old curmudgeon. You just have to know what you're getting when you listen to a podcast with him. He did compare Arraez to Rod Carew on Mackey & Judd today. (He said he's not as good, but he's close).

    You never know on the WS. I wouldn't bet on it, but crazy things happen in the playoffs. Also, Correa is in charge of his own contract, IF (BIG IF) he really loves it in MN, he might play it out another year when the free agent SS market isn't as filled with big stars. If he waits until after next season, he'll still get a big contract without having to compete with Xandar Bogarts, Trea Turner, Tim Anderson, and more for the top contracts, and he still would probably have the highest AAV. So, no to the trade. If you think you're getting to the playoffs, you're not trading your starting SS just because he might opt out.
