    1. You don't know that they aren't trying to trade Pelfrey. 2. If you think Pelfrey is starting to come back to earth and isn't going to be worth much, why would other teams not know this as well? I'm not saying they shouldn't try to trade Pelfrey. I definitely think the Twins need to move him. But I also think that it might be a little premature to say that the Twins are not trying to sell high on him.

    In the past 4 years the Twins haven't had many assets to sell, and the ones that they have had, weren't worth a ton. Last year they had Suzuki and Willingham. You could make the argument that we they could have sold high on Perkins, but the bullpen would probably be in even worse shape now, plus we don't know what they were being offered in return. There are other examples of guys getting traded in the past 4 years, Liriano and Morneau come to mind. So, to say that they didn't sell is a little inaccurate. As for being buyers this year, I think people are going to be disappointed in what happens. I don't think TR is going to make any big splashes because I think that the FO sees their real opportunity for contention starting in 2016. I think they'll make a few trades, especially for a bullpen arm, but I have a feeling that the guy the get won't be a top tier sort of reliever. It'll probably be a guy like Steve Cishek, but that might be a stretch. I hope they aim a little higher, but I don't really see it happening.

    I agree with you that Pelfrey seems like a August trade candidate. I hope he TR can trade him for a relief pitcher. That's my hope. I think you overestimating Pelfrey's value though. There's no way he get's a B-level prospect by himself. Scouts have said that Samardzija might only bring back a B-level prospect. So, if you think Pelfrey can get a B-level guy, get ready for disappointment.

    I think they are going to make a few trades for a bullpen arm or two. I don't think they'll be big names and I don't think it'll cost a lot. That's pretty much all I see happening. I would love to see them trade for a catcher, but I don't think they will be willing to give up enough for a guy like Lucroy. My guess is we'll see an AJ reunion.

    That works, but it it tends to reflect light back into the umpire's eyes. So that one is dicey as well. Best thing to do is just add a lot of "necessary" sun screen to your face that just happens to soak the beard.

    Well,that's why they play 162, right? I'm going to tomorrow's game, so hopefully Verlander will continue his trend of being horrible and I'll see the Twins beat up of the motor city kitties!
