  1. I can't quote a post from my phone, but in regard to the Braves prospects and pool money. Teams can choose which years pool money to use for the released prospects so all the offers that would be avalible in July are avalible right now.
  2. I doubt they get calls about pool money. Time to sift through the former Braves prospects and blow the bucks there.
  3. Why he won't chose Seattle... they stink and a poorly ran. One thing we can offer him that the Yankees can't is a chance to beat the Yankees. Sure, other teams can offer the same opportunity but we also have an exciting young core. I think we have a real shot here.
  4. I actually think this is a real shot and they have been planning to make a run at him. According to this link, Deron Johnson was in Japan about a month ago. By my best guess, I think they have about 700,000-1,300,000 or so left. They have been adding cash in trades since Pat Light was traded. I can't find actual value on any of them though. Pat Light traded for cash Danny Santana Traded For cash Jason Wheeler traded For Cash Brandon Kintzler traded with 500,000 adding in cash Nick Tepesch traded for cash. I don't have any idea what the value of everyone here is in terms of cash, but there is something there. And I'm just ball parking that they've spent about 4.8-5 million on international FA. They are one a very few teams with much of anything left to use to sign him and of the teams with cash left, one of the only teams that can go over 300k. They are in a small group of teams with a chance here.
  5. I know, I'm well aware that life isn't fair. Neither is baseball. I would just like to see him back with new roster additions to see what he does.
  6. I wonder if a Home/Home European soccer aggregate style would work ever in baseball rather than a one game, winner takes all in the current form? It just seems like baseball - of all sports - is just not meant for a single post season game and this would only add one day not matter what rather than a possible three.
  7. Let's get creative. Santana in New York for the WIN! Start Mejia verses Kluber. Than go Gibson Berrios and back to Santana.
  8. I have my thoughts and ideas. I don't know if they're any good or what. I'm just thrilled that I can have thoughts and ideas about post season pitching rotations! I'm thrilled that they will play the Yankees in a one game playoff in New York. It just seems like something special. This squad has so many holes and needs but they just keep getting up and fighting back. As I said before the trade deadline, they should've pushed more chips in and tried to have a stronger team, but this is the team we have. I enjoy this club. Eddie Rosario for World Series MVP!!!
  9. Alright finally Gray is off the board, let's see if there is still time for a Santana deal!
  10. Zack Littell i guess. Seems like an improvement over what they gave up.
  11. I like it when you guys mention when they go up against other teams top players and how they did. I just don't have the time to keep up with other teams prospects and it's also nice to see how the local prospect do against upper echelon guys from around the league.
  12. Frazier didn't play the day he was traded. Like the difference between decent and good, there is a difference in playing in a game and maintaining a route. Sure, teams can use the players until a dead is official, but it's just plain stupidity at it's finest. Why wreck a potential deal with an injury?
  13. It's, definitely, not Garver, he played a full game tonight. We can go ahead and stop that talk now. These is no way he would have played if he was the player traded. Plus, there is no way you can read between any lines in the Tweet since it consisted of just one line. The one line stated decent. It's semantics, I know.
  14. There is a pretty big difference between "decent prospect" and "good prospect" This car for sale runs pretty good. This car for sell runs pretty decent. I'm buying the one that runs good!
  15. Right, but Garver is too much. A Murphy for Garia swap is about right. Glancing over the old Brave's system, I'm leaning towards them looking into catchers. They are stacked at short, stacked on arms and pretty set at most spots. Sure, a buffer isn't a bad idea for them. This is just back of the napkin thinking for me though and I'm far from a Brave's pipeline expert.
  16. I'm actually thinking it might be John Ryan Murphy. It makes tons of sense. They are hurting for catchers and he still has tons of upside. He is behind Garver and he is on the 40 man roster.
  17. They should absolutely be buying! Though, they should be buying with caution. People here are way more passionate about the team than elsewhere. We also know more about the system and the prospects than others. I think we might have more of a personal relationship thing going on with the prospects too. One thing I see people seem to overlook though is the steep learning curve of the majors. Even if one of the young guys lights it up as a rookie, he might find himself in a sophmore slump or lack the abilities to adjust as the league figures him out. If the upper level prospects flame out, The Twins are even further away from the window. The Twins are never going to have a perfect team. No team is perfect right now, every team has wholes that need filling. Anyways, when you have a change to pull something amazing off, you take it. If you keep waiting another opportunity might not come for a long time.
  18. I have a question. Why would it be so unheard of and, seemingly, odd that The Twins trade from their minor leagues strength, SS, for other teams minor league pitchers? That might be the best option they have right now.
  19. It's true that the window is starting to crack open a touch. The issue is that the only way they are going to get the pitching needed to truly compete is going to be through trades. They are going to have to trade prospects that we have followed and really like. A thing that we have to also come to grips with is the system isn't that good at the top. Gonsalves MIGHT be a pretty solid MLB pitcher. Romero MIGHT be a pretty solid MLB pitcher. After that, it's pretty much back end types... maybe. For the most part here we tend to way overvalue prospects and especially "our" prospects. To get something cost something. If they just didn't miss so hard in a couple of the drafts...
  20. That's just a myth. Most contestants are having an above normal season when entering the derby and they just even out in the second half of the season to their career norms.
  21. This is odd. Maybe Lewis didn't give a discount. Maybe they just thought he was the best player in the draft.
  22. It's like people forget how starved The Twins were at short not even that long ago. Most teams are though. They have three pretty good ones now with this kid as a fourth. Good, all around, SS are hard to find. These are assets that can be traded. It's far from the end of the world.
  23. HS players go 1-3. Maybe other teams saw the same flaws in the NCAA players.
