  1. I'm just thinking about what Gleeman said about the non-versatility of second baseman overall compared to other positions. He feels way to young to get pigeonholed into that role already.
  2. Chargois is only 13th? Dominant MiLB numbers and a good September call up. I would have thought he'd be higher but it just makes me excited for the rest of the list!
  3. How come no one ever mentions Polanco as a trade bit. He's being blocked by Dozier now and he's proven himself to be MLB ready with his bat. That's gotta have some value. Trade him now before he stagnates at ss. Mostly its just frustrating watching how we have decent pieces but they have been playing out of position because of logjams that could have been cleared to fill other holes in the roster.
  4. At this point I'd place my faith in Falvey. If he doesn't see anything in Stewart or the other guys I'd be alright with him swapping them for guys he does like. Though, I'd only see him doing that for other minor leaguers and not MLB guys.
  5. Granted Polanco only had 270 AB's but he hit.280 with a decent walk rate. I'd take that at 2B. Remember when the twins gave up 100 more runs than the 14th place team in the AL? We are not going to be able to seriously upgrade our pitching this off-season but we can improve our team defense. Who cares if you hit home runs if the pitching staff has put you in a hole too deep to climb out of.
  6. Is Polanco considered a better defensive second baseman than Dozier? If that's the case I would absolutely try and ship Dozier sooner rather than later. If there is Any chance of getting an elite defensive SS and pitching prospect for Dozier, I'd hope the FO would make a move. I'm sold on the idea of better defense helping the pitching staff out at the expense of offense.
  7. 38.7 runs above average?? What stat is that? What's it factor in? 3.87 WAR? ...
  8. For all us short people out there I want Altuve to win!!
  9. Let's hope that backspin and elite pitch recognition plan out! I love this dude and I really hope he can stick long term.
  10. Wouldn't have guessed 6 errors was the most for all right fielder's
  11. I just wish I could see into the minds of Molitor and Antony and see what they are thinking. It would be so fascinating to work as an assistant or something, just to watch.
  12. Bert just said Ploiffe is DH'ing because Sano's elbow is feeling better. Seems weird just to do a 1 for 1 swap of the superior defender vs the superior hitter just to give Sano reps at third. Not really doing Santiago any favors.
  13. There's our gold glove first baseman! Though that Cleveland fan straight up whiffed his grab. Maybe it was a subtle commentary on the twins defense this season.
  14. It's these kind of negative sweeping generalizations that people are complaining about. Opinionated without facts. Among 1st baseman with 110 games or more this season Joe is 8th in ops 2nd in OBP 3rd in avg 2nd in fld % Kepler has 6 errors good for 8th on the team out of 9 position players. Hmmmm Santana is worth more than we are paying him. As they say a blind squirrel finds a nut occasionally =Kintzler And Dozier is an all star streaky second baseman. We have no idea what the new FO will decide to do with him. Gotta be productive with the criticism.
  15. You can't be positive at the expense of being realistic, but you can choose to smile at the bad along with the good. The Twins suck but you don't need to take it personally. If we were just muddling along at .500 we'd REALLY have nothing to talk about.
  16. It the reactionary move making that doesnt seem to follow any kind of development or contingency plan that has been the Twins biggest issue imo.
  17. How much of this can be traced 6 years back when the core of the team was obviously in turnover and we didn't commit to even a partial rebuild. 1 90 loss season, shame on you, 3+, shame on Terry. Everything has been completely reactionary. Bandaids only keep the boat from sinking so long and it started with the boat already sunk at the dock in '10.
  18. I like to see this because it's not just the Twins that are a mess, the minor league teams are also failing to get players ready for the Majors despite being competitive in their respective leagues. This way the GM can focus solely on making the Major League team better, while the new president can focus on the system as a whole. Divide and conquer.
  19. Do other fan bases generally feel that every move their team makes is wrong, or is it just us?? Would've liked to see Garver splitting time with Zuke earlier this year. Here's hoping for September.
  20. ESPN makes it sound like he's done for good . "Park, who has been in the minor leagues since late June, will undergo right wrist surgery on Thursday. Park, 30, had been dealing with an injured wrist through much of the season and it recently has worsened. The injury is to a tendon in the back of his hand, manager Paul Molitor said. He will remain in Minnesota until the end of the season before returning to South Korea. "
