  1. As long as we aren't counting on him to be regular high leverage. Maybe he'll earn those spots and move parker down a notch. If he doesn't have it, fine, a good flier to take before giving up any prospects in a trade.
  2. I think he's been fed so many sliders that a belt high fastball surprises him and he can't catch up with it.
  3. I don't think the pitching staff is in decline just being occasionally exposed when a game isn't 8-0 after 3 innings.
  4. What is the current thought process on Romero - that he needs to gain confidence and dominate AAA? Is there benefit at some point to bringing him back up to work with Wes Johnson?
  5. And no extra inning games this year to get through. There were 21 extra innings by this time last year.
  6. I agree - Rogers started out the first two batters with straight fastballs right over the plate. He started to do better once he mixed in some sliders. It was like he needed a couple batters to get the feel for things.
  7. Gibby did a good job. His first inning was a lot like Berrios' on Friday, needing to work from the stretch right away, and he was working kind of methodical/slow. After a couple of innings he and Tortuga just meshed and cruised.
  8. I usually agree. Maybe this year, if stars continue to align, no one is untouchable. Obviously return would have to be elite for those guys, but go for it.
  9. I agree with slowing the roll on Arraez, if he goes back down he'll be back soon enough as the injured list will unfortunately but inevitably be used again
  10. I think it was Greg Holland who was signed late by the Cardinals just a year ago and was a disaster.
  11. Any player who slumps and sulks could make a bad clubhouse worse. But everything about this clubhouse seems so positive that Sano should be able to relax and play.
  12. I know Cave has options but I'd rather move on from Adrianza. Gonzalez can get some at bats at all infield positions.
  13. I was surprised to see Mejia 'needing' to pitch on Monday as a setup guy, when odds are the next 2 games with Gibby and Odorizzi would require someone 'coupled' to their impending 5 inning and 4 2/3 inning starts.
  14. This is what Odorizzi was last year. 5 innings and he's done. A number 5 starter. Gibson and Pineda have only the ability to go about 5 right now also, though due to health. Prepare for an overworked bullpen, injuries, and an exposed lack of depth.
  15. The next play at the wall will tell me more, it's almost like he'd been waiting all off season anticipating this first play, and wanted to test out how his added 20 lbs would help him. And all of those thoughts converging in a matter of seconds as he tracked the ball into the wall and he ended up with his awkward aggressive/reckless play.
  16. Buxton seems to be getting back into the pattern where he's almost instantly at 0-2 counts. Hopefully he gets a couple days off and comes back with an aggressive approach.
  17. This looks for the Indians to be a microcosm of the upcoming season - good starting pitching but where does the offense come from? Kudos to Berrios for realizing the lineup he was facing and being aggressive.
  18. The bullpen has been akin to the Vikings' O Line. Failed the eye test of the uneducated viewer but ignored by the brilliant front office. Now I'm sure by May Romero will be straightened out and back up, but it feels like a couple of early 12 inning games and an injury will really expose the lack of effective depth.
