  1. How are they not at least adding Cueto or Archer at this point? They won't cost much, they're worth a flyer. Even if Winder/Bundy/Ober/Ryan are all great and we don't need them, we're out what $5 million at most?
  2. Bryce Callahan is pretty solid in the slot. Dantzler can start outside, and use the #1 pick on a corner. There are 3 really good ones, hopefully one of them falls that far.
  3. I'd rather have him in CF when Buxton gets hurt than Divin' Jake Cave. But I'd have rather had Kevin Pillar than either one.
  4. I give it a B. While it's hard for this to be a "bad" signing unless he's hurt and stays all 3 years, it's also not the greatest FA signing in Minnesota history as some are saying. We are now projected as ~84 wins. Fringe play-off contention. Hopefully we add a legit #1-2 starter. If we don't, we're likely dumping Correa at the deadline for prospects.
  5. If they are really going to DH Sanchez a large % of the time, they will need to keep 3 catchers. Wouldn't Wilson Ramos be an upgrade over the guy they claimed last week?
  6. The Reds claim they are not having a fire sale. But I'm guessing he's available for the right price.
  7. I assumed this was about new chicken tenders at Target Field.
  8. Also, now they pretty much have to give Oakland whatever they want for Montas, otherwise, what's the point of all this?
  9. Happy to be wrong and very surprised Correa agreed to such a short-term deal. I figured he was looking at 5/$150 at an absolute minimum.
  10. If we're not trying to win, don't sign either. And certainly don't trade a 1st round pick for Sonny Gray.
  11. That has nothing to do with it at this level of payroll. Falvey's spreadsheet probably said he was worth $5 million and not a penny more.
  12. Too rich for our blood....
  13. They made some good moves early. From 7/31/19 on, they were foolish enough not to go all in on that team instead of hoarding prospects for a "window" that has already closed. Then they refused to pay what it took to get a real starter in FA and signed Donaldson instead. Then they made a series of God awful decisions prior to 2021 and now they've traded away Garver to "clear salary" that they will spend on...no one. Yeah, that's pretty inept, IMO.
  14. Once Falvey has a "red line" he won't cross it. Then he wouldn't "win" the signing and that's unacceptable.
  15. They won 101 regular season games but were a "whole team" away from winning 3 play-off games?
  16. Yep. You knew Falvey was in over his head when he refused to add a starter in 2019. Almost everything that's happened since proves it.
  17. If we offer 5/$125 and he turns it down, OK. But my bet is that is what he will sign for and we drew some arbitrary line about not going past 4 years etc.
  18. They'll sign Pineda or Cueto. That's it. They're done. The payroll will be less than $100 million and they'll finish last. There's no excuse for it. Either fire Falvey or sell the team, Jim. Preferably both.
  19. An $85 million payroll and a last place finish. What a joke. Fire Falvey.
  20. Let's be real. They won't get Story. But know they tried and TRIED. There just wasn't a "fit". But they tried very hard.
  21. The Pohlad's aren't ordering Falvey to have a $75 million payroll. Either he has a plan for the 50-60 million they have to spend or he's incompetent
  22. It's far more irritating that they won't top 3/$36 Kikuchi or the $ for Rodan when they're stilling at an $80 million payroll.
