  1. Hey Bark, I didn't see you out here for a while. You must be back from Kerguelen Island (which I had to google). But while there, did you run across any Kerguelen Shags? No shag like a Kerguelen Shag, I always heard.
  2. I paused a moment before clicking, because I was looking for the "Like, but made squeamish by..." button.
  3. Heh... Usually it's a hateful song that gets stuck in your head. I don't mind that one- with the original lyrics of course. The less I think about Milone these daze, the better.
  4. OMG, those crabs--- My long time sweetheart was a Baltimore gal, and those are some of my fave times- Nick's at Cross Street Market, bucket of crabs laid out on newspaper, plastic buckets of local brew, oh.... heaven. Then she met the jagoff with the yacht, and I moved to China. Oh, well. So, I used to kind of like the O's, and back then, Camden Yards was still a showplace. Now--- I just wanna the see boys beat the living hell out of them Birds.
  5. Yee haw! I'm gettin' in line with my torch! Or passing out the axe handles, anyways-- I've gotten off on some good stream of conciousness rants here, but that, Mr. Jimbo was a doozy. I'm witcha all the way!
  6. Grrrrrr...!!! I cannot for the life of me understand why Graham was in against ARod. That makes not one iota of sense. Molly hasn't been dealt a decent deck from TR, but my God, you've got your only solid choice sitting on the damn bench in that situation. So he threw 50 pitches the other night? SO WHAT!!!!! He's 25 by-God years old! He's a 240 pound hoss of a young man, get his behind out there on that mound, and give us a chance to win! Molly, Pelf gave you a heck of a start, and you blow it (blow being the optimal verb there), by sticking sub-standard product out there in the most crucial inning of the game. Mr. M, you were one of my faves for many years. Exemplary player on and off the pitch. But you suck as a manager. Period.
  7. It's just... What the... This f'n bullpen. All f'n year. And nothing, nothing, nothing done about it. How many times have the usual suspects just come on and surrendered? That's right, just keep trottin' them out there, maybe it'll work sometime. And of course, just as I post that, fien miraculously gets out of the mess he created. Ok, both he and Poof made me eat words today. Good. I'd rather win than be right.
  8. Well, Poof made me eat my words a bit- (tasty!). But, guys, we're rocking the ball around the park tonight, and already gotten deep into their BP, why keep running ourselves out of innings? I didn't see Dozie, but come on, Torii- that was brutal. Be thinking out there, fer cryin' out loud.
  9. That was a great article. I wish him all the luck in the world, to go along with that ability. He sounds like a smart guy, too, as well as having all that heart. The only sad part about it for me, was- when I saw the headline about Boyer playing for the Goldeyes, I got my hopes up, thinking it was another Boyer...
  10. Tuned in just in time to see Poof muff that double play ball that would have killed that rally. Just.... Poof. I know he's been vastly improved over the past couple of seasons, but he is still not the guy over there. I was wondering when they moved Joe out of C, why they didn't try him at 3rd- with that arm? Come on, Killer played over there for a while. Plus, he's got the body language of Charlie Brown. He always look like a whipped dog walking around out there.
  11. Ya know what I wanna see this week outta the boys? I wanna see pitches busted in on A-Rod’s knuckles. I wanna see a Yankee shortstop get put in the 3rd row on a DP slide, and if he beefs, tell him it’s 4-year-old payback from Nishioka. I wanna see Dozie or Poof slap a tag on a runner with some meaning. I wanna see some swagger, I wanna see some fight. I wanna see 10-pitch at-bats, and plenty of ‘em. I don’t wanna see anything remotely resembling Minnesota Nice. Go into that Bronx like you own it for change. By golly, call up Arcia just for the sheer moxie of it. I wanna kick- some- Yankee- a$$. Win or lose, I don’t care. Just show me something this week, boys.
  12. Heh... true that. By golly, tho, it's nice to find something to smile about in the midst of the home team suck-fest.
  13. Awesome! '62 Rambler with space-age push-button transmission. Built like a tank, probably pig-iron. The car I learned to drive on. Thanks for the memories!!
  14. One would hope they'd become the fast, ravenous zombies, like in 28 Days Later, and not the slow-as-hell-zombies in every other stinkin' movie.
  15. Heh.... growing up in ND, my friend's dad used to wow us by telling us he was the 4th guy in the boat on the closing credits. "See that guy, number 4 in the row with the paddle? That's your old man..." (sips beer, kids in awe)
  16. Yeh, but the middle name has to be something like 'Bob', or 'Dale'...
  17. Methinks it's this Darwinian presence of which you speak-- Danny was a pretty good chucker with the Rangers for a while. Man, that Bobby D could swat 'em long, tho, in between K's.

  19. Heh... glad somebody got that one-- and a 70 Charger, no less. I had a 69, till it threw a rod on the way to Heart Butte summer blowout back in the day.
  20. Thanks, Seth, for all the work you do so we can keep track of the young 'uns, and keep hope for the future alive! You know, rather than watch Fien and Boyer be the destructive right-handed presence, why not get "Gulfa" Tonkin up here to stay? Let him take his lumps and learn. It's not like the aforementioned clowns are 1) any better, and 2) any part of any future Twins team after this woebegone year. I know he got lit some, and was more wild than AAA while he was up, but gawd, at least he's got K potential, he's done the job he got sent down to do, and we can at least see if he's going to be part of that future or not. Or, we can choose to go with guys we already know are not-- and shouldn't be part of the present lineup, either.
  21. Argh. Why do Perk's innings seem to last longer than an indie film?
