  1. I would move Kepler to CF for sure. If the injury* is short term, Cave or Wade are on the 40 for a reason... If it’s long term** I would seriously consider adding Kirilloff to the 40 and give him the playing time in RF. * furiously knocks on wood ** sorry for even typing this horrific possibility
  2. That is true. But top prospects, especially the #1 overall prospect for multiple seasons have different standards.
  3. If Royce was not healthy in 2019, I fail to understand why he was not placed on the IL at any point? If it wasn’t serious enough to take him off the field, I don’t buy using that injury as an excuse for his rough season in 2019. Again, Doc, I know he was young in his first full season. All of the examples I mentioned in the post before were his age, and (gasp!) some of them played in the same FSL. If he is indeed an elite prospect, I expect him to hit better than league average at A+ and AA. This is a big year for him.
  4. It’s more than just a down 2019, Doc. Lewis has been producing pedestrian offensive numbers since he got the call to Fort Myers. I did this research during the 2019 season and looked at the top SS prospects over the last 5 years. No one struggled as much as Royce in A+ ball: Brendan Rodgers - 2017 - Age 20 - .387/.407/.671 in 236 PA before getting the call to AA. Willy Adames - 2015 - Age 19 - .258/.342/.379 in 456 PA before getting the call to AA. Gleyber Torres - 2016 - Age 19 - .270/.354/.421 in 547 PA before getting the call to AA. J.P. Crawford - 2014 - Age 19 - .286/.373/.395 in 415 PA before getting the call to AA. Amed Rosario - 2015-16 - Age 19/20 - .278/.328/.378 in 707 PA before getting the call to AA. Corey Seager - 2013-2014 - Age 19/20 - .307/.372/.560 in 479 PA before getting the call to AA. Trea Turner - Never played A+ ball. Pretty crazy. Orlando Arcia - 2014 - Age 19 - .289/.346/.392 in 546 PA before getting the call to AA. Can you point out when Lewis was banged up last year that caused his bad stats?
  5. Same with Kirilloff... I may look silly in the future, but I am off the Royce Lewis bandwagon. If he can be sold high for a young stud pitcher I do it this year.
  6. Hope you had a good time in Austin when you were in town! When I first moved down south I was skeptical of the mud bugs but god dang are they good. I dated a girl for a period of time that grew up in Alexandria, LA. IMO the best redeeming quality of Louisiana is their drive through liquor stores.
  7. Must be nice to go to a school with good sports teams! Did you go to any football games? Also, approximately how many pounds of crawfish have you consumed so far?
  8. My condolences for being born in Wisconsin! At least your parents were smart enough to get you the hell out of there before you became a Packers fan! I concur that watching live sports is way better on the west coast... You can watch the entire game and still have an hour or 2 before thinking about going to bed!
  9. 6 is a good number if expansion is inevitable. One thing I don’t see as an advantage at all is the top seed(s) getting a bye week. When is taking time off from baseball ever a good thing? IMO, a bye week puts the team at a disadvantage. This isn’t football where a late season bye week is a godsend for players to heal from injuries.
  10. I wouldn't implement any of it. By the way, I'm just a minion and don't get that sweet, sweet Front Page exposure... But we already have 5 pages worth of discussion on this topic here.
  11. We also have an apology problem in the US, where half-assed statements of “remorse” are blindly accepted by the public. I think Comcast is more sincere when they “apologize” during times when my internet is acting up.
  12. It’s sad, RB. You’re right and this all happened out of his control. He didn’t ask to be traded, nor did he ever want leaked information his medical report, whatever it contained, that caused Bloom to get cold feet...
  13. It’s not dead yet... Glad the Twins are just working with the Dodgers to get Maeda.
  14. Do the rules change during the season? Otherwise why couldn’t the Twins back out of the Dyson trade last year after reviewing his medical reports? They learned within a week he was damaged goods and needed surgery. Chaim gets a good week to review medicals in February while teams at the trade deadline get 10 minutes to review medical reports?
  15. I concur with Aaron Gleeman listening to their last podcast. How can the Red Sox; 1) Determine solely off a medical report Graterol is not a starting pitcher? And... 2) Still want him included in the trade after his medical report halted this whole negotiation? If Graterol is such a red flag, then the Sox should have requested another starting pitching prospect. That would have been a somewhat reasonable negotiation tactic... Still requesting Graterol + another top prospect? That seems fishy.... I’m disappointed the trade didn’t get finalized. Oh well, now we know how the new regime in Boston operates. Not sure how willing the Twins are to work with them again soon.
  16. You needed this situation to happen in order to be concerned? Not the last 2 off seasons where he’s declined extensions?
  17. Probably should wait until the Maeda deal is finalized. Otherwise we're back to Thorpe/Smeltzer/Dobnak in the rotation again until Pineda/Hill come back.
  18. I saw the Betts/Price portion of the trade is finalized. Nothing on Graterol/Maeda yet?
  19. What a shame... At least the prospect people are happy to have their dominant back end reliever again.
  20. Haha! When the genie granted you 3 wishes, I’m not sure why all three of your wishes was knowing what would happen for the Twins in the 2019/2020 offseason! Me? I probably would have asked to have the ability to fly. You have some weird wishes, Bird.
  21. It probably slipped Falvine’s mind completely to trade from surplus... Or maybe, just maybe, other teams share who they’re interested in?
  22. You were able to determine Graterol is a dominant back end reliever in a sample size of 14 innings? That's impressive, man. I realize there are a lot of prospect lovers on this site, and I'm sorry for your loss. I hope y'all can forgive Falvine by opening day.
  23. Never forget! Brian Kielty for Shannon Stewart. The score is 1 to 1. Let’s see more impact trades!
