  1. Belisle - absolutely Breslow - not as much Belisle bugs me more because Molly thinks he's a high leverage pitcher.
  2. If not, we can still talk about the Property Brothers... Not a bad consolation prize!
  3. Sigh... After 13 pages, I'm mentally prepared to be disappointed tonight hearing Brendan McKay's name selected.
  4. Jonathan loves knocking down walls.... Even load bearing walls!
  5. They're good looking twins! And know how to transform a gross looking house into an open concept, modern paradise!
  6. Yeah, I agree that the problem hasn't been losing players. In the year or 2 before Target Field was built up to today, they've resigned Morneau, Mauer, Perkins, Dozier... As well as giving out unwarranted extensions to Suzuki and Hughes. Since the ballpark opened, there hasn't been anyone else worthwhile to re-sign.
  7. Agreed. This organization needs top end talent again in the system. They have depth already. I'd rather they go all in at 1-1 but understand the strategy to go underslot to get something better at 35/37
  8. Obviously I haven't heard this directly form a Twins' source. That was my instant reaction reading KLaw's response that InfraRen posted.
  9. Ugh. Disappointing that Greene wasn't even on the Twins' radar anymore as of a month ago.
  10. I don't know who this is, but hey, it's a creative idea! Jim 3:30 Any pitchers that could come up and help in the bullpen later this season, like Sale did in his draft year? Keith Law 3:30 Lange.
  11. The 2 NL leaders in ERA throw 93 and 94... We may just have to agree to disagree about our opinions on velocity.
  12. I generally agree that lefties can get away with slightly less mph than a righty. Though I'm a big believer in velocity being a key indicator of a pitcher's success. There's a new article on Fangraphs "In Game Velocity Changes - When Fatigue Attacks" that discusses the fine line of velocity and a pitcher's success. Matt Harvey for example was very very good when he sat at 96 and 2 plus secondary pitches. Now he looks like a shell of his former self now that he's sitting at 92. Arietta this season is seeing a drop in velocity, and as a result, struggling with a 4.68 ERA. If McKay is sitting at ~90 right now, and he loses any sort of velocity along the way, I fear the Twins drafted Tommy Milone.
  13. 12:40 Josh: If you were the Twins, who would you pick? 12:40 Travis Sawchik: I am not a draft expert. But Hunter Greene is the most compelling guy, for me, in the field
  14. I'm quite concerned about his velocity number in general, and the fact that his velocity drops even lower after 55-60 pitches. I just don't see that combination as a front of the rotation starter.
  15. I may have an irrational man crush on the Property Brothers.... There, I said it!
  16. Welcome aboard! One thing to know: USAFChief is old... I mean, real old. You'll be impressed with his jokes and comebacks to messages such as this!
  17. Because the safer play sounds an awful lot like a back of the rotation starter.... I don't want a Kyle Gibson at the #1 overall pick.
  18. Agreed. The velocity era isn't ending anytime soon. Every team is acquiring pitchers that throw 95+. Meanwhile our favorite team is targeting someone who throws 90. Awesome.
  19. The average fastball in the MLB is 94 MPH. Considering the Twins have been behind the 8 ball for years using power pitchers, I'm very disappointed they're targeting another 88-91 MPH pitcher.
  20. Dave Cameron wrote about this today on FanGraphs... "The Siren Call of the Two-Way Star" http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/the-siren-call-of-the-two-way-star/
  21. Yeah that's fair. Hopefully we do see him make the move to AAA soon and pitch on back to back days.
  22. In regards to the Royals, the best thing for the Twins would be if Dayton Moore thinks their core can make one more miracle run... They'll miss the playoffs, and all of their pending FA's leave without getting anything back in return.
