  1. Considering the lack of talent being called up to the MLB from Rochester, there should be a lot of fat to trim on the team.
  2. Yeah I agree... Other than Mauer and Sano, who were the cream of the crop elite prospects, I can't think of other prospects in this organization who have immediate MLB success from AA. Gordon is good and could be great, but he's not an ELITE prospect IMO.
  3. Kohl Stewart is this year's ABW and Duensing in all trade proposals...
  4. Is Tampa Bay loaded at SP in their organization? Because Hu is now a reliever in AAA...
  5. A trade like that also has a good chance of blowing up in the Twins' face setting them back to a 90 loss team again.
  6. Jeeze. You leave the country and unplug for 5 days, and the site morale goes down the drain. Let's get PUMPED UP around here! It's one series in June. On to the next one.
  7. I can see where that person from the Twins is coming from. They feel they found a diamond in the rough and want to keep it close to the vest. From a fan's perspective your idea sounds like a lot of fun.
  8. Or maybe an MLB scouting combine similar to the NFL draft?
  9. I agree with your original response to me that it's hard to pump up the draft when most players are 3-5 years away. Perhaps there's an opportunity for an organization like BA to record these players at least doing some drills so they can have some analysis between each pick. I did enjoy their coverage of the 1st round where they interviewed prospects and had a little video of them. Just wish they would have kept it going past the 1st round/comp picks.
  10. Hey now, it's been Minnesota State for 20 years! Go Mavericks!
  11. In fairness, I doubt Goodell knows many names either. I do like the speed of the MLB draft compared to the NFL. But overall NFL blows the MLB out of the water with their analysis and breakdowns of every player while it's going on.
  12. NFL draft coverage >>>>>> MLB draft coverage. Couldn't believe they stopped TV coverage after the 1st round.
  13. Looking back, their rotation was actually better statistically in 2014 than in 2015 when they won the WS. Their overall strategy of getting 5-6 innings from their starter and turning it over to the bullpen could work for 3 of the Twins starters... Frankly I only trust Erv and Berrios to go 7+ right now.
  14. We're halfway through June, and this team is still in 1st place above .500. I'm a man of my word, and believe this is a contending team. The pitching staff isn't going to be fixed magically this season. IMO they need to address one or the other - bullpen or rotation. As the Royals showed before, a good bullpen can overcome an average rotation. I hope they make some moves to shore up this horrid pitching situation.
  15. That's good to know. I guess it doesn't really matter if you're a 6th round pick or a 14th round pick as long as they get paid.
  16. Honest question. How many of these late round picks actually sign? I've been reading from others on here that there are still some talented people left. Now that we're at this point in the draft, wouldn't they forego signing a contract and try their luck again? Especially if they're HS players.
  17. Looks like they found the perfect replacement for Tommy Milone!
  18. That's most certainly the case they have more information than us, and national publicists. KLAW for example admits he and other national writers don't see medical reports that teams gather. We'll never know what the Twins big board looks like. Nor will we ever truly know what their true strategy was... What we will hear is "We couldn't believe so-and-so fell into our laps in the x round." "Everything worked out as we hoped it would." "We believe we have the best draft class out of anyone."
  19. This makes a ton of sense... The ladies and some men were swooning over Legends of the Fall Brad Pitt. And who could blame them?!
  20. Couldn't agree more. It was quite frustrating last night reading Radcliffe's quote right after the Lewis pick saying they're using the savings to "go big" at 35/37... And Jeremy Nygaard's source texting him "Boom. Just wait" after the Lewis pick too. It leads me to believe that another team drafted the player they wanted, and made adjustments on the fly to change their strategy again. So here we are, with $1+ MM to spend on less-touted players the rest of the draft.
  21. Did Pressly learn his lesson after 3 AAA appearances? I'm quite worried we're going to see the same results from him. Also, how Belisle and Breslow continue to be employed is beyond my comprehension.
  22. Chris Gimenez says hello! He might as well be considered part of the bullpen now with how many times he's pitched.
