  1. https://twitter.com/AaronGleeman/status/1156580317165248515?s=19 No excuses. Get something done today.
  2. If they don't supplement a HISTORIC offensive lineup for a playoff run, they will never do it. Hard to be a fan of a team that doesn't take advantage of a great season.
  3. I try like hell to get the Thor trade discussions back online. And be ready to offer: One of Lewis/Kirilloff One of Graterol/Balazovic Their pick of the litter of A ball players or MLB-ready guys like Thorpe, Stewart, Poppen, etc.
  4. Be a baseball fan! Where teams don't sign free agents, don't make trades, and generally just want to be competitive... But not too competitive!
  5. If we take LEN's reports at face value, then MLB GMs are no different than friends and family in fantasy football leagues.
  6. Maybe it's just me, but I have a higher value placed on Duran, a 21 year recently promoted to AA, over a 24 year old who's struggling in AAA and an 18 year old rookie ball pitcher. It didn't require Balazovic or Graterol to easily beat this deal. I first mentioned Duran and Thorpe. If they wanted someone further away from 40 man consideration substitute Thorpe for Enlow, Leach, Berroa, Sands, etc.
  7. So.... Status quo in TD Land? We could acquire Mike Trout and half of the members would be lukewarm about the prospects given up to acquire him.
  8. This one hard deadline sucks. Let's move it back to August 30th if it's that difficult to know whether you're a buyer or seller 60% of the way through a season.
  9. A top 10 MLB farm system can't easily beat out 2 45 FV prospects in a bottom 10 farm system. Got it.
  10. I threw out those names with the assumption the Mets wanted near ready MLB pitching prospects. If they prefer keeping players off the 40 for a couple of years, we all know the team is littered with those guys too... Enlow, Colina, Alcala, Canterino, etc.
  11. That was an underwhelming return for Stroman... An offer the Twins could have easily beat. Doesn't make me hopeful that an impact trade is on the horizon.
  12. Thor sounds like a classic instant fix if he goes to an organization that switches his pitch mix. I don't know why he's not throwing the slider more... Possibly a fear of getting injured again? That pitch is nasty, and a smart, more analytically driven organization than the Mets is going to get a steal.
  13. Out of the 3 pending free agents he's #1 on my priority list to sign this off-season as it stands today. Big Mike Odorizzi Gibson
  14. I was. But the Twins were never 11 games under .500 at any point during the years I wanted them to add.
  15. There were Twins fans too that wanted to add. If the Giants stand pat it's only going to make their rebuild more painful. They were 11 games under 500 through the first 80 games. That doesn't sound like a team ready to make a final run.
  16. I have read this on more than one occasion about San Francisco's status here, and I disagree very much. It took going 16-4 this month in order to say they're above .500 by one game. Why on Earth would they value a 20 game hot streak over the first 80 games when they were a terrible baseball team? Would you advocate the Twins keeping their players if they were in the same situation? I'm willing to bet, because we saw this in 2015/2017, there would be articles here not to buy into the hot streak and sell.
  17. The odds of making the playoffs increased today. Bad break for the Rays...
  18. For 3 pitchers who can assist in 2019 I'd be open to trading just about anyone in the minors *within reason*
