  1. Nolosco was born in the same city where I first lived (I was born in another city, emergency c-section).
  2. The ice cream I had was at a Haegen Daas in the mall right down from the huge theater Luxembourg has. Think IMAX size then double that. That MIGHT be about as big as the screens there. Unbelievable sound system, and over-sized seats, set up stadium style, with plenty of leg room.
  3. I like him. He's fun to watch for many reasons. Hope he does well too. And the city of San Fran is great.
  4. I've had some ice cream that tasted like a million bucks. But I had that in Luxembourg.
  5. Bert asked if Suzuki had a vesting option based on at bats and Dick said, the contract status says he's signed through this year only. Isn't this something they should know? And they said if they deal him now it would preclude them from signing him for next year.
  6. Carlos Pena said Nunez can defensively play every position at a very high caliber level, gold glove caliber level. Those old school former players on MLB Network crack me up.
  7. probably has to do with three things 1: SBs don't really add much value and teams have gotten away from them mostly now that they realize that. Which is why such a low SB total leads the league. 2. Defense matters 3. If the every team has to have a rep rule wasn't in effect, he wouldn't have made the team. There were way, way better options available for his spot on the all star team. When people say he shouldn't have been an all star, some people take it as a slight, like people are saying he was horrible at that point. No one is saying that. Doesn't mean he hadn't been good, just that there were more deserving players.
  8. Got to be, "Cuts like a knife' and if I the guy who did music for an opposing team, I would actually play that song every time he took the mound. Like every inning.
  9. my feelings on the trade haven't changed one bit. I'm happy this trade happened and happy with what we got.
  10. Here's an interesting article about Nunez http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/eduardo-nunez-and-the-case-of-the-minus-28/ One of my favorite lines from it: 'I can tell you that Eduardo Nunez has been worth 1.0 WAR in his career, and 1.6 WAR this year. He was technically just an All-Star, but he was an All-Star in the way that the guys who finished after Lance Armstrong during his doping years are Tour de France champions'.
  11. I know who both teams have there for options, but even so, neither team has gotten good production from that position, but okay.
  12. I'm pretty sure most people here are wanting a GM hired from outside the organization. I'm not sure I've read anyone argue other-wise. This trade of Nunez, IMO, was a good move and I'm not going to temper my opinion of it because it gets followed up by the decision to sit a prospect like Polanco on the bench again. Just like this Nunez trade doesn't say to me, 'Hey, maybe we should seriously consider Antony to permanently get the GM job.' If I had to guess, Antony said what he said about Polanco after talking to Molitor, who should have been let go with Ryan.
  13. I believe the guy on the right is Chet Lemon. Pretty good ballplayer if I remember correctly.
