  1. Gladden says Duran is "working his way into a more high leverage kind of guy." Got to get up prettttttty early in the afternoon to get one past the dazzle man.
  2. I'm not watching, just listening, did our baserunning prowess cost us?
  3. We're in a pennant race and we're starting Aaron Sanchez, with Mark Contreras and Nick Gordon in the OF against a LHer. Meanwhile, Buxton needs a day off and we're subbing in an OFer for 2 innings who can't swing but isn't on the IL. Falvine ain't impressing me.
  4. Either of which I'd prefer over Sanchez, and Ryan is 75 years old.
  5. I like AJ as well. Interesting, at the least. And smart, IMO, without trying to be. Kind of shocked to be writing this post, but there you go.
  6. When I'm MLB GM I'm putting "safe sex only, from Jan 15 through March 1st" in every contract.
  7. Pretty thin on position player talent, too, IYAM. Every team has "could be a decent 4th OFer with luck and health" in their system. Unless you're bringing up difference makers your minor leagues are worthless. Promoting Nick Gordon or signing/trading for Ehire Adrianza are the exact same thing, and neither gets you where you want to go. That's one reason I'm generally always in favor of trading for big league players. I also realize I'm in the minority with this view. Also many people truly enjoy following the minors and I don't mean to belittle that. Some people also feel more attached to players that have come up through the Twins system. I can respect that as well. Me? I want wins.
  8. I'm thinking we're getting a sobering look at just where the Twins minor league system really stands.
  9. *projected to be available Musgrove was on that list this morning
  10. If they aren't getting help they SHOULD trade Correa. And I would HATE the idea of trading Correa. You've said it multiple times, Mike...why would anyone think they'll have a better shot next year?
  11. As Nick has pointed out, and I was hinting at, your plan is pretty unfeasible. There aren't players out there that fit those projected salaries. Musgrove perhaps but he's staying in San Diego. I'd be ok with spending $9m on a reliever (although you and I would be among the few here who would be), but anyone getting that coin is getting it for probably 3 years minimum. But I still need a name. Who are you giving $27/3 years to? For the record, I'll be extremely disappointed if the plan for SS next year is Palacios/Lewis. That's a recipe for needing a SS next deadline. Also concur with Nick...the way to spend $44m next year isn't on eleven $4m players. Get a difference maker or two.
  12. Names, please. Which catcher are you giving $15m? Which starter? Reliever? For how long?
  13. Didn't he already have wrist surgery last year? Awful news, in any case.
  14. Go to the "News" page, tap the 2 line "hamburger" drop down menu, then select "Twins Resources." There you'll find rosters.
