  1. Wonder if Allen sent him out to work on his fastball. So far, only one breaking ball..
  2. Clutch? What is this Clutch thing you speak of???? Last Holiday, my brother's and I were talking about our favorite cars. I mentioned "4 on the floor" and a niece asked what that was. After I explain, she exclaimed "BARBARIC!"
  3. A couple things: Hughes: This is the same thing that happened with the Yankees. Exactly. Perkins: Years of over use to just to get him cheap Saves. Johan Santana: no other recent or current Twins pitcher should ever be mentioned in the same breath. Twins'll need at least one of him with the current pitching "prospects". Developing Control: STOP OVERTHROWING! Twins somehow got it in their heads they needed hard throwers, big fastballs. I really don't see anyone on the roster that can do that successfully. Playing Defense "has been a struggle for this current group". LOL. Yeah. Somewhere along the way, they started an Offense push. Just like the big push for "big fastballs" pitching staff. Gotta take a 2nd look at "The Twins Way". Next......
  4. Won't changing his delivery to "back towards 2B instead of 1B" also decrease the snap on the ball that makes that change dive so much?
  5. Buxton has looked a lot better. The approach / mechanics are consistent now. No toe-tappy thing. From my eyes, Buxton is doing the "front foot down early" thing. SSS, sure. Signs of hope? Hopefully. Call me in a couple hundred AB's.
  6. 2 out of 3. I don't Berrios will be one of those guys. The whole "not consistently throwing his fastball for strikes" thingy is not a good thingy.
  7. Did Passan name any of the other exec's who turned down the interview request? What were the reasons why these un-named exec's turned down the interviews? Did or did not Cherington already have the Blue Jays job? Molitor has a contract for 1 more year. Do you expect a sudden change in the current roster where superstars or even offensive/defensively proficient players suddenly appear? Who would be the manager that would want to jump into this mess? Passon's article Tweet really doesn't say anything. P.S. I got a little too snarky. Apologies.
  8. I would speculate that Cherrington's "personal reasons" for not interview with the Twins was he already HAD the job with Toronto. An organization already entrenched in the playoff picture. Good choice, IMHO ;-)
  9. Dozier: great partial season. Let's see this for a full season Lets see the successes continue in SP and next year Still some concerns about a guy that big playing 3rd. I'd make sure Sano is playing in winter ball. Nice season. Would like to see OBP improvement next year. Berrios and Duffey should both start the season in the bullpen. Come in, start an inning, out in 2. Get them acclimated. Polanco can hit. Like most of the MiLB class that were called up, defense needs improvement. Wondering if he'll be an INF super-sub next year. Hoping this is the last year for some of these guys. Hoping #5 will get them in the starting rotation sometime after the All Star break More power doesn't translate into more success. More power doesn't translate into more success. Nice start to a bullpen, i.e. not overwhelming. No sacred cows in this group 33 and, now, bad legs. Maybe he's getting on base too much We know how "Feel Good" story end up: The End. Sounds like he might make a great coach. I really haven't had much of an issue with Molitor. I just find it kinda odd that you'd hire a 60 year old guy as a 1st time manager for a team that you KNOW will be depending on really young players right now. Really don't understand what happened here. Prayer may help. Yeah, I'll keep watching the Twins games. I love watching the young guys development. Just no more Torii Hunter-types. Please! Yup, have been for around 40 years. And, yes, I started REALLY young. I'm good
  10. The different lineups and positions is just the Twins trying to figure out what they have going into Spring Training 2017. They also need sick notes from all the players parents on days they have to face guys like Kluber. gods he's good..... I believe the Twins will be looking at Polanco being a utility player+ at least for the start of the season. Subbing for Sano, primarily, and Dozier and Escobar less frequently. Beresford at 1st: REALLY didn't see that one coming! Moving away from the lineups, I'd like to see both Berrios and Duffey in the Twins bullpen next season. No real high-pressure situations; start of the inning stuff, like Perkins [ oop ack ]. Get them broken in on MLB hitters.
  11. Alex Anthopoulos is out. End of story. Time to move onto the next fairy tale. ;-)
  12. Conflicting stories. Strib posted "two sources on Friday said he was never a serious candidate." Twins didn't consider him a serious candidate or AA? Anyway, Dodgers executive Alex Anthopoulos is still a Dodgers executive. Seriously, moving from Dodgers to the Twins? Come on..... http://www.startribune.com/twins-adjust-front-office-hiring-timetable/392960281/
