  1. another umpire with the ball/strike calls printed on the inside of his eyelids
  2. My two cents: It was Donaldson so the alignment might have been funny, but I think that ball belonged to the left fielder, esp. with runner on third (tag situation even though it was too shallow to tag)
  3. I agree completely. I think Escobar is very valuable, as a player who can come off the bench in a game but also step into a position and play every day for several weeks and continue to hit, as he has done this year and in 2015 at short.
  4. Well I'm not happy with the way the Dodgers shopped De Leon to us last offseason.
  5. Between Escobar, Polanco, Adrianza, and even Dozier, I would guess Escobar seems like the odd man out this winter. It's too bad as he's one of my favorites. Polanco as a trade piece might attract a very good pitcher in return, provided another team is willing to deal in good faith (unlike the Dodgers).
  6. Exactly. This is what would be nice to know. Does Molitor know about the bunting probabilities? If not, why not? Has the front office discussed this with him and is Molitor just stubborn? Are the charts wrong, and bunting actually a great thing now, and only Molitor and the front office know this secret?
  7. To stay out of the ground ball double play? It did look like a hit & run based on the weird slide and Buxton waving at a pitch three feet out of the strike zone
  8. My hot take from the game thread: Mauer led off the top of the 8th with a single, and Molitor asked our hottest hitter to sacrifice bunt. From second base, Mauer is not necessarily a safe bet to score on a single to the outfield. Cain led off the bottom of the 8th with a single, and he has been hobbled and not running well. KC saved the out and sent in their pinch runner. Runner later scored from second on a single to the outfield. Also, Grossman sacrificing early in the game like what was said in the OP. Grossman is what 6-13 since his return with an extra base hit in all four of those games. Molitor cannot call on Grossman to sacrifice there. Just can't.
  9. No, look like he's here to stay for a while. Time to tinker with the leg kick again, unfortunately.
  10. Didn't hear audio on that. I imagine all announcers were Bremering
