Well you were right they did trade Donaldson! i really thought Kiner-Falefa was going to be the full time short stop for the next year or two until Royce Lewis was ready for his chance, or Martin. There was some logic to that move to acquire him. But now Kiner-Falefa gets traded right away again to the Yankees. So What do I know?

It’s just us. Although, Texas, Cinci and the Yankees have been involved in some recent moves as well.

I was looking forward to watching our rag tag bunch of misfits from last year oh well. Go Twins!

Agree. Garver is the better guy to have than Sanchez.

Indeed, if the Twins front office carried a player on the big league roster for ten years but never put them in a game, you might find a way to praise them for smart roster management! The rest of your post is the usual pro-owner, anti-player stuff, and we’ve all went circles on this so many times, and few of us have any desire to engage anymore.

Actually, for the times we are living in, that doesn’t sound like a far-fetched scenario to me (except for the last part).

I firmly believe the Twins would have won that game, if Hosken Powell could have come around to bat again in the ninth. ?

One of my favorite players as a kid - and I don’t know why. maybe I was at the game he homered off of Palmer? My father liked to take me to games when the Twins were facing great pitchers. I have distinct memories of seeing (or being at) Fidrych and Nolan Ryan game at the Met, and seeing a lot of Dave Goltz games. Hosken Powell also homered off of Fergie Jenkins his rookie season! (had to dig through the game logs for that one)

On Harbaugh, I went from zero to sixty, and now back to zero, in the span of about 72 hours. I sure did talk myself into circles on that one.

Yeah if the new GM wants Harbaugh, then let’s roll already. Not a Harbaugh fan but I can live with that.

I want to go into this Vikings reboot with an open mind. I don’t want to get invested in an early ‘take’ and then end up trying to defend the take after it turns out wrong. That said, the combo of Adofo-Mensah and Jim Harbaugh seems like it has zero chance of working out. (but Vikes could still get to the playoffs, sure, esp if Rogers leaves GB.)

I lean towards parting ways with Cousins. Because what we saw yesterday is what championship caliber quarterback play looks like, and while Cousins ain’t bad, he ain’t close to those other guys either, including Stafford apparently. Unrelated, I ran across this old clip of Cousins experiencing a brain cramp and taking a knee right before halftime instead of spiking. How many times did we see stuff like this at the end of halfs in 2022.

I don’t know Paul Allen personally so will not comment there. Nor do I really mind Bercich or Johnson that much—although they do have some bad habits to clean up. I’m just throwing out some ideas. But yeah the whole presentation suffers these days. I think it gets so difficult at that station to pretend to get excited every August and every week of the season after so many years of underachieving. The Wilfs are long overdue to change it up.

In the October game, Carolina got the ball on their own 4, down by 8, with just over two minutes and no time outs. This was the week after the Vikings blew a 10 point lead to the Lions in the last three minutes. On the radio, Paul Allen said: “if Carolina drives down the field and scores and gets the two point conversion and ties the game? Just shut this whole thing down. Seriously. Shut it down.” False bravado is not serving P. A. well this season. Pete Bercich has turned into a complete referee-baiting homer now, and steps on all of P.A.’s big calls. Ron Johnson talks over everyone else on the fan line, hosts and callers alike. The whole thing does need to be shut down and rebooted beyond just Speilman and the coaching staff getting their pink slips. Put Ben Leber in the booth with P.A. and let Meatsauce be the voice of the fan lines, he speaks for the fans better than anyone else in that whole group. As far as the players, I don’t have strong opinions on what to do with them, or which ones, so I will just follow along with what you all have to say. The new facility is outstanding. Put some new people in charge who will put it to good use. Please! That’s my vent.

Interesting update for you @gunnarthor I guessed that Magnus wouldn’t defend his title in 2023; you said he wants to be considered #1 of all time: We were both right. He wants to keep increasing his rating and be the best ever, but he is bored with the world chess championship and won’t defend it once 2023 unless it’s against Alireza Firouzja. I was wrong to suggest if Magnus was getting bored with chess. He’s only bored with his competition. Imagine being that much better than 2nd best in a game where all the information is right there on the board available to both players, and there are no secrets.
