  1. I wish him the best, but I won't miss him. Not enough velo to make it work. When he was hitting his spots, he was average at best...when he wasn't, he got lit up pretty good.
  2. I never liked Buck as the leadoff hitter. He's just not the right guy for that, even though the Twins seem to think he is. I'd bet anything he starts the year at the #1 spot. I'd go Polanco rather than Buxton. The truth is, they don't really have a good leadoff hitter. Please don't use C4 or any of the other guys at the #1 spot.
  3. Like that great old Happenings song lyrics..."See you, in September...see you, when the summers through" .
  4. Don't try and "make" him into anything. Imo...he's better than anyone we have in the rotation right now. Good FB and a very good change. Decent complimentary pitches too. First off...I don't think we have the pitching coach(es) to even start to change what a particular pitcher is doing. Second...he wasn't doing too badly for the fish, with what he's already doing. If he's healthy and stays healthy, he'll be a good addition to the staff.
  5. I'll take Taylor over Celestino any day of the week. That's a huge upgrade. There has to be more moves coming though.
  6. I hope not. There's no need for Gurriel here.
  7. I don't know if either of them has "anything left", as long as they're not trying to find out if they do, while wearing a Twins uni.
  8. Just read that according to their GM, the fish plan to play Arraez at 2nd and move Jazz Chisholm to CF.
  9. Can't say I'm thrilled. I don't think I trust our FO when it comes to trading for pitchers. I hope it works out. Seems to me, we could've gotten more in return from them with adding some additional pieces. Maybe one of the other starters? Anyway, I'll miss Arraez, he was a lot of fun to watch. I wouldn't be surprised if 10 years down the road, he's got a handful of batting titles. I know that's not a particularly valued stat any more, but he's a very good hitter and the power numbers will get better too. Best of luck to him.
  10. "My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives". - Hedley Lamarr. Nah...keep him down at Rock Ridge!
  11. I'll have to respectfully disagree. The perfect "puppet" manager would be more accurate.
  12. I guess we'll get to see if trading for him was a good move. I hope so. The 2nd TJ is a big concern, but there's a lot of potential there.
  13. Big no on Bauer, but everything else should be on the table.
  14. At this point...if nothing changes, I'd rather see Gordon in the OF, than Kepler. Since we probably have to play Gallo...put Gallo in RF, Buck obviously in CF, and Gordon in LF. Kep has been giving us next to nothing and I think Gordon has more upside. The ideal thing would be to trade Kep, but I think his value is pretty low.
  15. Unfortunately, I think he's just about done, and I didn't want him back here now, but LOVED him when he played for us. Great guy in the clubhouse. He'd make a good coach, if he decides on that direction.
  16. I happened to see this today. Info on the new Target Field video board. It's supposed to be done before the home opener: https://ballparkdigest.com/2023/01/11/new-twins-videoboard-design-unveiled/?src=rss Looks pretty nice! I wonder what kind of effect it could have on the wind, if at all? What do you guys/gals think?
  17. They didn't really bring back Hedley LaMarr...did they?
  18. Also just watched it. CC seems to be very genuine and well grounded. It's easy to see why he gets the respect he does from other players and why he's a leader. Not real sure about Boras...he seems like he's pretty slimy, but that's the nature of being an agent I guess. I'm sure that some of the details were embellished a little bit, but all that matters is...it got done. Really glad to have CC here for the 6 to whatever years. We're a MUCH better team with him. On a side note...do you think someone at BSN, or the Twins, could've checked the sound/mike situation before the presser? Just have someone do a test on the sound, before it starts. It's not rocket science. Early in the presser, the sound kept cutting out when they were speaking. They got it fixed eventually, but it was kind of annoying. Good, old fashioned, "technical difficulties"...gotta love it! Bottom line is...WELCOME BACK Carlos!
