  1. He has some of the softest hands for a second baseman and smooth release. He might be able to play SS as well, but he was born to be a 2B to me. He did get most of his doubles down the line at ETown, so I am curious to see if he spreads those hits out more this year. Great Upside
  2. Excellent outfielders in Cedar Rapids. Crowed too. What is day one OF line up? I say - Kepler in LF - Buxton in CF - Walker in RF - Jimenez as DH Williams will be in High A - Your thoughts
  3. I get your point on Boyd. That being said - I wouldn't want him as a future closer if he K rate is low either. I believe in the kid and think he will eventually be a starter. He can eat up innings.
  4. *Boyd was a solid starter, but lacked run support in 2012. He works slowly on the mound which often leads to hitters becoming complacent thru the game. Solid ERA is most important stat. Big Strong Kid. *Goodrum will be a shortstop. He makes some excellent / athletic plays at SS. *I'm hoping Vargas becomes our Big Poppy in a few years regardless to his age. He can hit!!
  5. Surprised Burris is ahead of Melotakis based on draft round, but not surprised based on "stuff". Burris might have best curveball in system? He was awesome in ETown last year with great ERA (1.75) and best league record at (7-0). Big Sleeper. Both will be contributors for Twins in some capacity in the future.
  6. Tyler Duffy is argueably the 2nd or 3rd best pitcher from the Twins 2012 draft. His stats were awesome and he showed very little flaws. Should be in the Top 25 - No Doubt! I thought he was better than his Rice college teammate JT Chargois. Never saw him rattled. Great SU man moving forward. 2 Walks (BB) is my kind of relief guy.
  7. Who are the people in AAA that are ahead of Arcia? That would make the most sense by the Twins management in holding him back if they already have guys they want to see in AAA. There is no early season fuss to rush these guys. We are going to be good because of, off season trades, or we are going to be good (division contenders) in 2014, because of appropriate play development throughout the minors. Either way haste makes waste. Lets be good for the latter part of decade and trust managements organizational gameplan.
  8. I loved the ETown outfield of Buton, Kepler, and Walker this past summer. Do you see all three going to Cedar and if so: 1) Will Walker start along side those two? 2) Will they keep some of the 2012 Beloit OF for part of the season? 3) How does this crowded OF play out to start 2013? 4) Will the Trio be as productive in a full season as they were in ETown? your oinion?
  9. Production is production - But you also need to drive in 100+ if you are going to be considered a top run producer in the MLB. Every team needs that guy. Most of the time it comes from a guy who can change the outcome of a game with 1 swing. It's awesome if you can do both, but hitting for average doesn't do anything for your team if you're only one of a few guys getting on base (as it pertains to production). Mauer basically does what Jeter does. Hit for average and be that team leader. Mauer needs some Cano's - Grandison's - Tex - Swisher's - etc. to help with the run production. Or get a ton of players who hit for average and can steal some bases (get in scoring position). Willingham was an awesome pick up and the Twins will benefit more when their young farmhands make it to the show. They have that nice combination of hitters (Arcia / Rosario / etc.) and power Sano / etc.). Twins fans need to just be a little more patient and Joe needs to be just a little more productive. Hit .290 with 20 homers and 100 rbi. - That works
  10. You could make an arguement for Romy Jimenez, as he had an outstanding season and improved his power numbers considerably as well (Best Lower Level Hitter). He was having a triple crown season before injury. I'm going on record and saying my Breakout Hitter for 2013 (Lower Levels) is Adam Brett Walker (Cedar Rapids). Kepler will contiue to do Kepler and is a star in the making, but I have my eye on the young slugger (Walker) who is still only 20 years old. Goodrum will make eyes turn this 2013 season as well.
  11. Other candidates: Josh Burris - 7-0 this season with a sub 2.00 ERA (Elizabethton) - Most wins in Appy League. Killer curve and mid 90+FB -- Solid as a middle reliever. Matt Tomshaw - (Beloit) - Lefty who knows how to pitch and can eat up innings. Pitch to contact guy. Candido Pimentel - Appy League MVP (small stature, but just gets on base) - small ball guy
  12. Will the Kernels likely have the same coaching staff as Beloit did this past year or do teams generally find a local area coach to take over thier lower minor league affiliates? Also you mentioned some teams in MWL have cable coverage. Which teams?
