  1. The link "Twinkie Town" Minor League Baseball - The Top 25 Update offered a Pre-Season Top 25. I'd like to know how your post season version would now look based on this list + Non Ranked members you know of.................... 1) Miguel Sano: 2) Oswaldo Arcia: 3) Byron Buxton: 4) Alex Meyer: 5) Aaron Hicks: 6) Eddie Rosario: 7) Kyle Gibson: 8) Max Kepler: 9) Jose Berrios: 10) Trevor May: 11) Joe Benson: Who? 12) J.T. Chargois: 13) Jorge Polanco: 14) Travis Harrison: 15) Danny Santana: 16) Mason Melotakis: 17) Luke Bard: 18) Hudson Boyd: 19) Michael Tonkin: 20) Niko Goodrum: 21) Chris Herrmann: 22) Alex Wimmers: 23) DJ Baxendale: 24) Levi Michael: 25) Adam Walker:
  2. Metro Sports link: Walker cracks the 100-RBI mark in win
  3. Adam Brett Walker II is the first player in the MiLB this season to reach 100 RBI. After his sac fly on Monday - he stands at 103 RBI. The question is: Can he break the CR Kernels Franchise record with 20 games remaining? Where will his potential record setting season rank in terms of Twins prospect performances over the years?
  4. The Kernels picked a bad day to bring thier "C" game. I read Terry Ryan was in Cedar Rapids tonight. Big night tomorrow to remain in first place. 1/2 game up I believe.
  5. Certain foriegn players are "protected" and can't play in the league. Not sure which players are protected? Each team gets 7 spots and a Taxi Squad of players. Must be at AA or above - with 2 exemptions below AA. My List of 7 Twins Players P Alex Wimmers (needs the work) AA P Luke Bard (A+ / AA) I would add several pitchers (2012 draft arms) on the Taxi Squad as extras in case innings get too high for above players. Wouldn't mind seeing Tomshaw as well to see what he really has. 1B Kenny Vargas (possible protected?) AA 2B Eddie Rosario (possible protected?) AA or James Beresford AAA 3B Miguel Sano (possible protected?) AA or C Kyle Knudson AA RF Adam Brett Walker (A) or Mike Kvasnicka (A+) CF Byron Buxton (A+) or LF JD Williams (A+) I would pay to see this lineup together just once. It would give a glimpse of the future for the Twins fans for at least one month . They could get to know each other as well on a personal level.
  6. Regular season ends in a month and AFL Rosters will be announced. Who would you send?

  8. As well as he's playing in CR - I wouldn't be surprised if he gets an invite to instructionals this Fall. Might have to change your wedding plans Mr. Murphy ?
  9. I'm more concerned with him becoming a great MLB player. If he arrives at 25 and bas a great 10 year career - Beautiful. If a young prospect arrives at age 23 and struggles for a few years and then has a great career - Beautiful. The key is what do you do when you get there? Right now he is dominating at his current level. How many of you can rattle off the age of each MLB All Star when they began thier MLB careers. Guarrentee you will be off by 1 to 2 years on most. Point: No one cares about your age until you turn 30 in the MLB. What matters is production. And Adam Brett Walker is getting it done (Right Now)!!
  10. He is actually at league average (21) and strikes out less than Harrison and Goodrum. Not a "premium position" is the only thing I can understand. His strike out rate is better than Chris Davis (29%) - Willingham (25.8%) - Stanton (26% - & Stanton was 28.5% last year when he was an All Star). A 22% strike out rate is generally not considered alarming for a power hitter who produces at the rate he is. Why are people calling a 21 year old "old" for A ball? By mathematics that puts him in the Show at 24 years old. This years 3rd round pick (Turner) is 21 and will be 22 this year. Thier other Catching draft pick (Garver) is already 22 years old. Oh yeah and they both are in Rookie Ball. Turner Catches and can play defense, but he went in the 3rd round just like Walker (because he had flaws). I love Harrison and Goodrum and believe they both will make it to MLB someday. I just think Walker is visibly the best player on the CR field not named Buxton. IMO
  11. These Rankings are from Jonathon Mayo and on MLB site
  12. How does Walker drop out of the Twins Prospect Rankings? Leads the Midwest League or Top 3 Ranking in: HRs / RBIs / Slg% / OPS% / TBs / & Runs. Walker gets jumped over by this years 3rd rounder who is only 2 months younger (Turner) and in Rookie ball. He is the 7th ranked guy on his own on team? and still behind 2 guys who have yet to pitch this season (Bard & Chargois)? Am I the only one who finds this just wrong? http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/news/prospects/index.jsp?c_id=min

  14. The addition of Murphy, Kepler, and Licon to the position player roster has proven to be a great move. They are all gritty players who know how to play the game the right way (winners). The Kernels also had some players not promoted who were pretty damn good as well. Youth (age) was probably a key factor in keeping them in CR as well as possible position blockage ahead of them. Can't wait to see how Palanco; Harrison; Walker; and Goodrum finish this impressive second half start? Either way - I agree that the fans of Cedar Rapids are probably glad they still have some familiar faces to cheer on, throughout the season. The pitchers have been pretty solid as well. Hope to see some of the other Top pitching draft choices join the club soon too. Although that would mean somebody has got to go (release / promoted / demoted).
  15. Adam Brett Walker II and Jonathan Murphy played next to each other in the OF @ Jacksonville University (FL) but came up short in terms of an ASUN title. The duo is definitely doing thier part to lead the CR Kernels to a second half divisional title. Murphy is also an exceptional outfielder (possibly best) according to manager Jake Mauer. Murphy .350+ BA Walker 21 HRs and 85 RBI

  17. Don't forget Adam Brett Walker II - High Upside starting to come into play
  18. Kernels better come to play tomorrow. They better give Pelfrey some run support and remember that what they did to Estrada (Brewers pitcher on rehab start) can easily happen to them. Time to get out those hitting sticks early and often tomorrow.
  19. Kernels Highlight - fast forward to 2:57 minutes: Sportscast - June 29, 2013 - KGAN-TV CBS 2 Iowa - CBS 2 Local Sports
  20. Walker had a great game tonight. On base all 5 times and scored the winning run in extras. He stole a base and scored both runs in the 2-1 decision. Brett Lee was fantastic and is another guy who puts his team in position to win most nights. I saw Walker on the news highlight and he showed some excellent speed on the Kernels winning run (wild pitch).
  21. Walker is getting better in K Department: Strike out Rates in 2013 Josh Willingham @ 27% Chris Davis @ 26% Miguel Sano @ 26% - Same as 2012 Mike Stanton @ 25% Adam Walker @ 23% Starting to figure it out........... Adam Walker in 2012 @ 30% Would you take any of those above guys if they produced the Runs and RBIs needed to win? I would think yes. Plus Sano and Walker are winners
  22. What are the odds of a team taking 2 kids from Minnesota with their 1st 2 picks andbeing from LA (Dodgers)? Chris Anderson 1st Round Tom Windle 2nd Round
  23. What are the odds of a team taking 2 kids from Minnesota with their 1st 2 picks andbeing from LA (Dodgers)? Chris Anderson 1st Round Tom Windle 2nd Round
  24. I'd like to know of another player with 50+ SBs in college and pro career with a better success rate (98%)? --- And that is funny Oldgoat - lol
