The only reason I wouldn't drop Gimenez is for injury depth. Him being "able" to pitch isn't worth anything other than laughs. Let Garver come up and start the learning curve. Plenty of at bats to go around.
I would rather shop Polanco around. He loses value because of his play this year and he's out of options. Maybe he could bring back one of Miami's relief pitchers. They're in need of acost contolled shortstop.
Ervin is our version of James shields when the royals were on their way up. They didn't win a championship with him but were able to get out of the cellar.
