  1. Check out the Adopt A Prospect page. There you will find much of what you're looking for on each prospect throughout the season.
  2. He is one of my AAPs this year. Everything I've read on him is that he'll be a very solid defender. He also has a terrific eye at the plate and will develop 20+ HR power. Oh...and he steals bases! The kid has a real shot to be a 5 Star player. 20/20, good average, high OBP, and solid defense. He's one to watch this year for sure.
  3. Only ask is to take it out to Top 25 or 30 as I believe the system is that deep with guys in the 20-25 or even 30 range that could move up quite a bit.
  4. Are in-game analytics and release point data available to coaches? Or, do they just have to eye-ball it and obtain it afterward to coach?
  5. I'm not the only one, but, I've been excited about this kid since the Twins drafted him. I'll be sure to make a stop in 'Nooga to see him play this year before he makes his inevitable jump to the bigs. Keep it up Rooker!
  6. I don't mean to brag or anything, but...I'm so excited about being just a couple hours away from Chattanooga! I'll be making it a point early on this season to catch a few of these guys pitch this year.
  7. Bingo! Would love to see him pitch against more MLB competition rather than the AA, AAA, and AAAA guys he's been pitching against lately. Have him immediately follow one of the starters or have him start one.
  8. Perhaps it ultimately comes down to whether Rooker's 2019 potential is greater than Mauer's 2019. I think LoMo and Sano will be fine defensively and a terrific duo in the middle of the lineup. I guess it comes down to which would you rather have: Buxton CF Polanco SS Sano 3B Morrison 1B Rooker DH Rosario LF Garver C Kepler RF Gordon 2B Or, Buxton CF Mauer 1B Poland SS Sano 3B Morrison DH Garver C Rosario LF Kepler RF Gordon 2B My vote is for the former, without question. I suppose you could bring Mauer back to be a bench bat, but, that may be less than ideal as he doesn't hit for any sort of power and hits left handed. In that scenario, whom would he pinch hit for? Morrison? Gordon? Poland? Nope. Nope. Nope. I'm sorry Joe; if Rooker is ready, 2018 is the end of the line for you as a Twin.
  9. My bad...I glossed over that one. On that note, I agree with you. 1. I do believe Joe can repeat what he did last year. 2. I do think the Twins exercise LoMo's option (after he bangs 30+ homers this year) 3. Rooker will be ready to start 2019 for the Twins and they will indeed want his RH Bat in the line up 3, 4, 5 of Sano, LoMo, Rooker will be scary. 4. Despite what many have posted on TD, it looks like Sano can still man the Hot Corner pretty well. I am betting he does that for another couple years. 5. Considering how this year's FA market has gone, I don't think Joe has a choice but to take a hometown discount. He's already said he doesn't really want to move or play for anyone else. The challenge is going to be that because he repeats his 2017 numbers, its going to be a "tougher" decision not to sign him. I just think that with LoMo doing his thing, Sano doing his thing, and Rooker ready to do his thing, Mauer is going to get prematurely squeezed out. To play with it a little more, what would you think about Rooker being considered the 4th OF (Granite the 5th) where Mauer is kept only because Rooker would rotate in at 1B and DH only 1x/week each?
  10. Are you suggesting that ALL of the items listed above need to happen for Mauer to stay in 2019? If so, that's a lot of ifs and you can go ahead and consider Mauer gone at season's end. On another note, having Rooker as the 4th OF/1B/DH would be a thing of beauty! He could man the outfield 2x per week, 1B 1x per week, and DH 1x per week. I know this is a Mauer thread, but I am SO excited about this kid!
  11. If you look at the weight distribution on Sano, most of it is in his Sequoia sized legs and his Paul Bunyan sized shoulders and chest. He doesn't have the Kennys Vargas build at all. When Vargas moves, he looks stiff. Sano has some fluidity and flexibility in the field too. Sure, he could stand to loose some weight, but he didn't look bad at all titanium rod in his leg and all.) As for the 3B of the future; I think it'll be Bechtold that surprises some this year and he starts breaking into the Top 10 Prospects in the organization discussions by mid-season. That kid has a tremendous eye at the plate, a terrific hit tool, great defense, and can steal a base (24 in the season we drafted him). He's 21 and will enter his first minor league full season this year. Could be a sleeper to move up quickly in the system in spite of the Javier's, Lewis', etc. Oh....and he's my 2018 AAP so I may be a little biased.
  12. Its really crazy to see just how few slots there are available. Catchers: Solid. Infield: Solid. Outfield: Solid. Rotation: Not going to get a Top Line guy, but, still pretty solid (especially once Erv comes back). Good depth with Gonsalves, Littell, Romero, Slegers, Enns, etc. Bullpen: Solid with quality depth. Guys like Busenitz, Moya, Kinley, Curtiss, and Reed on the outside looking in right now?! If Pressley proves to be ineffective it looks like there are no less than 3 guys waiting to take his place and contribute. Two of which have already had a taste of the Bigs; one of which has had some success (Busenitz). You could also maybe add in Romero toward the end of the season due to innings limits as I think he pitches around 150 this year. All in all, this seems to be a solidly built roster. There's a little wiggle room for those 24th and 25th spots, but, at this point its merely semantics if you ask me. Obviously, success in 2018 depends on the Buxton's, Rosario's, Sano's, Polanco's, Kepler's, and Berrios' of the world continued development. But as always, this is the time of year for projection and excitement! Go Twins!
  13. I read a Top Prospect Ranking that had Silva as a Top 2 or 3 prospect in the entire system!!! Could he be a Sleeper this year and arrive in a big way on other Prospect Rankings?! Has he figured out how to hit? I believe the report also said his defense was MLB caliber NOW. Anyone else even mildly as high on him as this?
  14. Compared to whom the Twins have added? No one. I was surprised to se Shaggy DFA'd, but, meh. The lineup is full, the Bull Pen is full, the staff is starting to round out (can ypu imagine a Lynn signing too?!). The 25 Man and the 40 Man are better today than they were at the end of the 2017 season. The prospect depth is also better than before the 2017 draft (in addition to the trades for Enns, Littell, Pearson, etc.)
  15. Love that you have Rooker in your Top 5. That kid is going to be special and soon! I still think Romero debuts in 2019, unless he gets a cup as a RP in September this year. I think it will depend on whether the Twins are in the playoff hunt or not. Great list!
  16. I'm not hoping he ends up in the pen. I only suggested that he may have to shift to the pen at the end of next year if he gets a cup of coffee with the Twins due to innings limitations.
  17. I could see Romero getting a cup this September in a couple of relief appearances. I think he ends up around 150 innings in AA and AAA; thus, won't have enough gas in the tank to contribute as a Starter for the Twins this year. 2019 look out though! If this kid can consistently pitch 6-8 innings/game throughout the 1st half of 2019 he'll be on the Twins' staff after the All-Star Break. He's definitely one to watch this year. Just like with Berrios a couple years ago, he'll need to show consistency before joining The Show for good.
  18. The Rays just got FLEECED!!!! Wow! Our #20 Prospect (Top 25 on most lists) for a SOLID #2 SP. Great work to the Twins' front office! Just wow!
  19. I got your point and I agree with you. I watched McCullers throw those 24 again and posted the YouTube link above. The Yankees couldn't do squat with it. ZERO solid contact and at least 5 or 6 K's in 3 innings (I think). He completely shut them down with 1 pitch for multiple innings. If a pitch is that good (Mariano Rivera anyone?) it can serve to shut down some of the best hitters and lineups in the game. I think your point is well taken and most of us are very optimistic about Enlow's development and rise through the Twins' system.
  20. THIS is the guy that I think surprises this year! If Kepler gets traded, I wouldn't be surprised to see him up after the All Star game; can't imagine Granite would really be holding his own by then. And what team couldn't use a Sano-type boost to their line up down the stretch?! Hell, maybe Mauer's production falls off a cliff and they insert Rook (nickname??) Into the lineup and don't trade Kepler afterall. I will DEFINITELY be grabbing tickets to see him play the Southern League Circuit this year (my sales territory includes Tennessee, Alabama, and Mississippi). Here we go boys! Baseball season is 2 days away!
  21. It may have already been said, but I think the Twins need to try to sign Garcia and one of Cobb/Lynn. With ESan out for a couple months, the depth-quality needs to be increased. No other Ace types out there (Arrieta is not that guy.) Rotation: Santana Cobb/Lynn Berrios Garcia Gibson AAA/DEPTH: Mejia Gonsalves Littel Romero May Hughes Duffey Slegers (Probably forgetting a couple) Without 2 FA signings, that pushes Mejia/Duffey/Slegers/May/Hughes into slugging it out for 1 spot. Obviously there is a lot of uncertainty with that group and they report this week!
  22. Looks like he finishes each pitch differently. He has a shorter stride and finish with his Fastball and just the opposite of that with his slider/off speed stuff. Not sure if that's something that can be picked up on quickly enough to make a difference (a la, Darvish in the 2017 WS). But to this HIGHLY untrained eye...I noticed a lack of consistency.
