    It would have been a little more exciting if the Garcia trade happened today instead of yesterday morning.

    Wow, I really like this trade. Trading essentially Ynoa and $4M for Littell and Enns is a solid deal. Littell has some solid upside in the rotation and Enns has a chance to be a major leaguer, though I'm not as high on him as some are. Great trade. I have to imagine Gibson takes Garcia's spot in the rotation. Maybe Enns/Gonsalves could take Colon's spot sooner than later?

    I think we've figured out a lot about Granite already - he's got good range, a bad arm, good base-stealer, high contact batter with lots of singles, and little to no power. I think he could have some value as a 4th OF and he could play the 2015 Shane Robinson role where he could rotate with other OFers. I just don't see him as a starter though.

    Belisle is finally looking like the same guy who had career years in 2015 and 2016. I gotta give it to the FO, they were right to hold onto him.

    Castro has looked really good at the plate today. That sure doesn't happen often.

    Wow, the difference between playing the best team in baseball and a bottom-dweller is striking. It's nice to see the Twins stringing together some hits! I'm just happy we aren't a bottom-dweller anymore. I don't think we're going to make a playoff run but at least we're close, unlike Oakland.

    I don't see anyone who is insanely high on Garver. In my opinion, the Twins should call him up to fill in as a bench player who can play at C, 1B, and DH and see if he can hit in the majors. If he can, great, and if he can't, now we know. We're not going to find out by keeping him in AAA.

    Thank you for this, I love this post. It bugs me so much when people say "the Pohlads are so cheap!" when realistically the problems were 1. terrible front office (that the Pohlads gave too much rope), 2. failing to be aggressive when they were approaching the playoffs, and 3. failing to blow things up and rebuild after 2011, instead continuing to pretend to contend.

    Wow, Moya's got some eye-popping stats in AA. I like this trade as Murphy really isn't needed anymore and is out of options in 2018. Maybe we could see Moya in the majors in 2018 and see if he can translate that K/9 line up here.

    I know Belisle has been good lately, but having him defend a one run lead against the best team in baseball is making me cringe a little bit.

    Good move. I was a bit concerned when it was mentioned that the Twins were going to give up a "good" prospect, but Ynoa is just a lottery ticket, I'm perfectly fine with giving up a guy like him. Acquiring Recker seems superfluous, but hopefully it foreshadows Garver arriving in the majors. I sure hope so. Garcia should be an improvement as the #4 guy in the rotation, though he may have trouble with the NL to AL jump. He'll at least be better than Colon.

    We've been pretty lucky with injuries so far. Even the best teams like the Astros and Dodgers have been hit by them. Let's hope our best guys can stay healthy.
