  1. If this game has to go into extra innings... do we see Nolasco or Milone at some point?
  2. Abad looked good. Hopefully he can be this year's successful veteran reclamation project. And hopefully have a little higher K/9 than Boyer's 4.6.
  3. It'll be interesting to see how Fien fares in the bullpen. I used to like the guy, but his leash has got to be getting shorter. I want to see him succeed, but if he continues to pitch like this...
  4. This is about what I was expecting. Tonkin didn't deserve a spot on the roster, so I hope they keep his leash short. They shouldn't be afraid about losing him. If there's a decent bullpen arm getting optioned in the next few days, the Twins should consider swapping that guy with Tonkin. With some talented young starters waiting in AAA, Nolasco's leash should be short as well.
  5. Rosario has to be at the top of the bust list, at least for me. I don't think Suzuki can be a bust unless he plays really bad.
  6. I think we may see Quentin with the Twins later this season... all it will take is one injury to an outfielder or Arcia and he'll probably be the guy. It only depends if that happens before June 1st.
  7. He has options and he was a burden in the bullpen last year. He needs to prove himself in AAA if he wants to be back with the Twins later in 2016.
  8. Glad to see Pressly getting some respect. He deserves to be on this roster.
  9. Park will clearly be the DH, so there's no room for Vargas. I hope Polanco gets his chance soon, he really deserves it. It's going to be a Arcia-Murphy-Santana-Nunez bench, barring Buxton starting in AAA and Quentin/Sweeney making the team instead.
  10. It's not a given that Casey Fien rebounds from last year's disappointing numbers. I would have liked him to face competition in Spring Training, but that doesn't appear to be the case. He's got to be able to at least raise his K/9 past 6.0. This is why I'm worried about our bullpen.
  11. I was referring to Polanco being traded, but Dozier is trade-able too. I did just get a brand new Dozier jersey, so I would like it if they didn't.
  12. I think Ryan Pressly can be a solid part of the back-end of the bullpen. He should definitely make the team unless the last injury affects his pitching. I also think O'Rourke is underrated. He's scary good when used correctly as a LOOGY. However, the Twins/Molly don't appear to want to use him in that role - he faced waaaay too many right-handers last season.
  13. I know Polanco has some pretty good potential to be a major league starter. I just don't see an opening because he seems like a 2B due to his arm strength. Dozier's kinda blocking him... I wonder if the Twins could trade him for something good.
  14. I think Rosario will start in CF. I think Buxton will light up AAA for a month and reclaim his spot. The only question is who will be playing LF during that period. Will it be Arcia? Or perhaps Nunez or Quentin (shudder) ?
  15. Let's take the time to remember that at the beginning of last year we had Arcia penciled in at LF, Vargas at DH, and Santana at SS. Now they aren't even getting consideration to start. Who knows if Buxton, Sano, Park, or Rosario will stick in the lineup (IMO I think Sano & Buxton will stick but I have my doubts about the other 2.)
  16. If Park doesn't start the season at DH, Sano should be playing there. But somehow I think the Twins are adamant on keeping Sano in RF. I wonder when the experiment will fall apart... Kepler will be ready to take over RF soon. But of course, injuries happen, and that will probably open a spot for someone. I think Quentin is just here for injury insurance.
  17. TR has said that he sees Rosario as a natural CF. Maybe he'll start there before Buxton's ready?
  18. Hey, Nick, is that number of $108.26M from last year's cap number including the $7-8M that they saved from Santana's suspension? Or does that not get factored into the salary cap?
  19. Eh... Nunez played about 1/3 of the season, compared to Plouffe's full season. (204 PAs to 632 PAs) To his credit, Nunez had a good season and deserves a bench spot on almost any team. However, if he played a full season, I'm confident his numbers would have regressed.
  20. Wow. Good job getting him cheap, TR. I liked the bid before but now I like it even better. If Park doesn't work out, then we don't have to lose a lot of money. If he does work out, then we got a heck of a bargain. That's a win-win deal in my eyes.
  21. I wonder if the Twins might claim a guy with one of the open 40 man spots? Many other teams have been shedding players like Achter and Pinto, so perhaps TR is searching the waiver wire for any potential. If not, maybe we could still add Michael/Jones/Jorge tonight. I'm not convinced that the Twins will use that roster spot for a Rule 5 guy.
  22. I'm a bit sad to see Achter and Pinto go, but I guess it had to happen. I hope they'll find success with their new homes. I think Rosario and Landa are a bit odd picks. But hey, I'm no GM. I kinda like the Pat Dean add, but I would have liked to see him get a spot start or two during that "let's have Trevor May throw a 3 inning start" fiasco.
  23. After seeing how many managers got fired mid-season lately, I wouldn't be shocked if Gardy got a job mid-season. Looking at you, Tigers.
  24. Yeah, I think most of us don't think of May as a rookie. He had one heck of a rookie season, though. He was a pretty decent starter for the first half and a very good setup reliever in the second half. He's absolutely ahead of Duffey in my book. Yes, Duffey's starts were better, but he didn't have close to as much impact as May - partly because he was only up for a month and a half.
