  1. Sign Eovaldi or Rodon. Sign two stud relievers and get a right handed hitting outfielder. I’m happy they signed Vasquez as that was a must. point of clarification I liked Correa and would love it they would sign and take the steps I listed. I have zero confidence that would have happened.
  2. I’m happy we didn’t sign him. Now we can build a team which they wouldn’t do if they signed Correa. What’s weird is that the FO thought they were going to sign him for less than $300 million. That’s delusional. As soon as Seager signed his contract you knew it was going way past that number.
  3. Huge blessing in disguise. Stay far away from Swanson as well - one decent year at the plate. The Twins now have a chance to build the best TEAM which was never gonna happen if they signed Correa. sign Evoldi plus two stud relievers and wil Myers. I’m also willing to wait for Lewis. He was the first overall pick let’s see what we got once and for all. If you sign these players and get some luck on the health front the Twins could do damage.
  4. Just saw that Hicks is hitting 211 over last two years. Had no idea he fell off so dramatically.
  5. I think there is merit to this idea. Let him hit mostly right handed and he surely would be a good defender in the corner spots.
  6. I don’t see the Twins starting a rebuild as they have Gray Mahle and Maeda for one more year. After next year it’s almost inevitable. Once the change happens look out as the spectrum of outcomes is very wide. If the Younger guys develop and stay healthy the Twins will be set for a good run. If they flop or keep getting hurt we could be in for lots of bad baseball for a really long time because there ain’t much left on the farm.
  7. Love this move. IMO catching was our greatest position player need. Now sign a stud reliever and get a good right handed hitting outfielder and we will be close.
  8. This is the point. He’s not much better than Farmer and we can’t trade our way out of this mess. The farm has already taken a hit.
  9. The point is he doesn’t have to make it through a whole season to be worth his salary. If and when he does he will be vastly underpaid. Last year he paid for his salary by mid May.
  10. This is why you add free agent talent when it is available because some years like this year there simple is very little. We sat out last year when there were many good pitchers available and now we need a starter and they are not there.
  11. I love watching Arreaz hit but he literally is a one trick pony He does that one thing very well but really has no other tools. His peak value is right now not because he won’t continue to be a good player but is likely to remain really good at one thing while getting more expensive every year. Trade sometimes is as much about how much the player is making as performance. I would not advocate trading him for an average pitcher but if you can add another prospect and get a potential #1 starter you have to do it.
  12. It’s Uufda. This type of mistake could result in a Viking rage.
  13. I’m generally with Mike Link in that I think it is most important to build the best overall team. Coming into the off-season I wanted upgrades at SS catcher a right hand hitting outfielder a starter and stud reliever. I would move on all areas and if there isn’t enough money for CC then so be it. I am not interested in Swanson as a fallback. I like the glove but the bat isn’t good enough for a mega deal. Lewis was the #1 over all pick. He’s worth a shot.
  14. This is a good point. Right field in target field is tricky. Max handles it well probably substantially better than whoever fills in for him if he plays center. The hitting …..
  15. Well Lee and Lewis is most of the quality left on the farm. If I’m pushing all in it sure isn’t for a corner outfielder.
  16. I was all in on adding a starter but this is nuts. Rodon is a great fit for the twins but 7 years is nuts. They should now get two quality relievers and add the innings thru the pen. Oh yea more pitching changes. I also agree with doc on adding a right handed hitting outfielder.
  17. If Arreaz gets Lopez I would do it. I like Arreaz but pitching is always the trump card.
  18. Disagree. They need to add 120 innings plus of good pitching so those were viable targets. Haniger was the best choice to add a right handed outfielder and Josh Bell was a great fit at DH. They could get the innings by adding two bullpen arms better than Jax but they don’t do that either.
  19. They shouldn’t as this might be the last year they have Gray Mahle and Maeda. Given their reluctance to spend on starters I could see the trade deadline or after next year being a time they blow it up.
  20. Don’t look now but what we feared might be happening. Haniger has signed along with several of the better pitchers. Signing Correa would be fun but this team has holes in addition to SS.
  21. Hendricks contract has no surplus value. He’s not worth a legit major league player.
  22. I think this is real. MLB seems to purposefully alienate fans at times. My perception is the vibe about the Twins isn’t great and it seems to be a surprise to Twins brass.
  23. Celestino winder and sands have little value in a trade for a really good big leaguer. There are literally dozens of players like them out there.
