    It doesn’t matter if is one year or a career. To compare Polonco (who I like) to Carew is ridiculous. He would have to perform at his career all time level for the rest of this year for an annual comparison and another 10 years for a career comparison.

    I was one of the doubters. He has looked very good throwing way more strikes than his history would suggest. I will hold off on buying in until the league sees his cutter for a bit

    Your assessment of Sano is quite optimistic. He hasn’t been good since the first half of his rookie season. The league adjusted to him and so far he has not adjusted to that. In my mind the jury is definitely out on him

    Don’t buy any of the numbers and I think his defense is overrated. That said I would keep him unless they are out of it at the trade deadline

    Many of us pointed out that due to the swing and miss nature of our lineup the offense will be inconsistent. And everyone except Falvine apparently knew our bullpen would suck

    I think we are finding out whether it is Molitor or Baldelli there is no such thing expert management of a crappy bullpen. This is on Falvine and their hubris

    The Twins are fun to watch and not just because they are winning. They have several really interesting players. I disagree with most about bullpen usage. This is smoke and mirrors and guys are pitching a lot. Not sustainable

    So what we gave up in draft pick compensation for Lynn nets is a nothing prospect. Another move that doesn’t move us forward

    My main concerns going into the season were the bullpen and the all or nothing nature of the lineup at the plate. I’ve been surprised by the bullpen but today is an example of the pitfalls of having a lot of swing and miss guys. Eflin was begging to get smoked and they couldn’t put anything together

    Very interesting. I hope that this new approach leads to greater command. I think most fans are too focused on velocity right now. Plenty of hard throwers in independent baseball

    If you have a bad bullpen the only thing riskier than signing free agent relievers is not singing free agent relievers. That had nothing to lose and did nothing I don’t get them
