  1. This bullpen is not good enough. By the all star break we will be wondering why they didn’t do more to shore up the bullpen.
  2. Just finished listening to the latest Inside Twins podcast where they interviewed Pablo. What a well spoken seemingly great guy. It’s worth a listen. He’s one of my new favorites.
  3. Sabato was the worst pick. Essentially a one tool player and he is taken in the first round. Even if he succeeded he would be easily replaceable. There are CJ Cron types all over the place. Cavaco is a bust but at least he had some tools that you could project.
  4. There are about 150 posters here that know more about baseball than Souhan. I just want the best players to play. If that’s Nick great or Larnach or Gallo or Kep. Just don’t run anybody out there that ain’t cutting it.
  5. Alcala has struggled to get lefties out except for about a month. Way to many questions here to count on him. Henriquez stunk at St Paul last year. Not saying he can’t make it but logic would dictate that he needs more time and to assume success is foolish.
  6. Given that Falvey usually is very careful about saying too much it is apparent from what he said that he was pissed. Wonder if this isn’t the first conversation they have had with him.
  7. Apparently he’s not the brightest bulb on the tree. Your career depends on keeping your body healthy in every way. So you are at a bar and end up in a situation. Bet it wasn’t 6:30 in the evening. Be a professional.
  8. One of the best days of the year! John: you need to post beer reviews from the local collection.
  9. Boy is he down on Wallner. It will be interesting to see if he is right.
  10. I don’t get why Nick has to “earn” his starts but Gallo and Kepler don’t. Play the best players.
  11. Yea I think if anybody is going to write about a pitcher being an ace the first thing is to define what it means.
  12. I never knew Urshela was Brooks Robinson and Mike Schmidt all rolled into one.
  13. Any bullpen including Pagan and Megill needs improvement.
  14. I was curious about this. I believe the Bally RSNs cover half or less of the mlb teams. What is happening in those other markets and is it working?
  15. This is a pipe dream but….MLB should create a universal streaming option that includes all teams, no blackouts etc. All clubs would be required to participate as their current contracts expire. All revenue is shared equally amongst all the clubs. This would solve the income disparity problem for the most part and make labor negotiations much more straightforward. There could then be a payroll floor which will eliminate tanking and teams not trying. MLB would have amazing marketing opportunities. Net effect could be a resurgence of interest in what is now a declining product.
  16. Gleeman mentioned that Farmer might get a shot at some reps in LF. If he is at all respectable with the glove there the bat plays. Could be a good option.
  17. This times 100. I am glad we have Cory Provus. He is very good and a modern day version of Herb.
  18. I only mentioned Sands because some think he is viable depth. I don’t. The main point I made is that in my opinion they don’t have much starter depth. I’m not interested in responding to your nitpicks.
  19. If you re-read the post you will notice that in my opinion the first two options are 50/50. We disagree about Winder and I don’t care about anything after that.
  20. The strength of the rotation will be solid performances at the bottom of the rotation. Despite what everyone says about having so many to choose from I don’t think they have enough depth. Yes you can list a bunch of names but that doesn’t really mean anything as a good percentage will either get hurt or underperform. I hope SWR and Varland get the first chances when someone goes down. Chances are one will be ok and one will not. Then we are going to Winder and Sands? Winder hasn’t been healthy and really hasn’t proven to be a MLB caliber pitcher. He might be but might not be. Sands is AAAA: good teams don’t have him in the mix. Then what? Henriquez or Balasovic? They were bad at AAA last year so I don’t see that working. By the All Star break we will be wondering why we didn’t add another starter. I guess this points out the need for a trade.
  21. Correct. That’s why this was a good opportunity. The money he got was nothing in today’s market.
  22. Ok. We are talking past each other. I wasn’t complaining about them bringing in pitchers with injury histories. What I was saying is that Eovaldi injury history shouldn’t be a reason not to sign him because they have done it before.
