  1. It would be nice if the rookies performed at the levels this place says they will but in reality some will be end up like Palacios and Contreras. Wallner belongs in AAA , at best, very poor fielder and his batting average was heading for the Mendoza line. They badly need a catcher or TWO. It is a long time till Sprint Training and who the Twins keep or trade is any one's guess; Twins Front Office wishful thinking probably is in a diffrent universe than the one that floats out of here.?
  2. At this point Arraez looks more like Lenny Green or Caesar Tovar, both shined bright and peaked around 30 years old after which they dropped quickly. Luis stealing ability of Green or especially Tovar , not much home run power but each hit double digits at least once in their career; Luis had more home runs this year, I imagine he will have year where he hits double digits but his Triple production fell way off. After this year, how good he is will determined, not before.
  3. Farmer can field well, he will start at third depending how the Short Stop situation works out, Miranda, at this point will be theh back-up. Has any one looked up what kind of speed Farmer has? You gents know where all the stats. are.
  4. Farmer's range at 3rd far, far exceeds Miranda; .65 per 9 and .78 per G, why does any one think he was picked up for short stop when a Thrid Baseman is what is missing?
  5. I think that may be because of where he is at; look at his number with the Twins before they dumped him and then look at his numbers with the new team, huge difference. He liked it here and he said while he thought he might be traded, he was still surprised when it happened; I also believe his being gone was one reason Sano tanked. I would love to see him back in the line-up, he could do Miranda a lot of good.
  6. I was going to watch the game as I happy when Minnesota beats Dallas but now I am glad I could not. Write up on the game all, that I read, that the one point wins made the 8-1 record very, very suspect and this game showed why. Que sera, sera.
  7. Farmer is good at third, if we keep Correa that is probably his leaving Miranda and Arraez to claim first but then Arraez's fielding is better at 2nd than 1st so come spring training there will be strong competition for infield postition -- assuming the Front Office is not set in their ways already. I put Miranda's height and reach as a positive attribute at First Base.
  8. Farmer has good numbers at 3rd base on Baseball Ref. why does anythink he will not replace Urshela? If Miranda's bat comes back he is the best DH on the team.
  9. We will know by All Star Break if those against are correct or if was as good as apple pie.
  10. Urshela's oWAR for this year was 2.8, dWAR 0.7; Miranda was at oWAR 1.7, dWAR -1.2.
  11. LOL, Wallner will be in AAA, unless the Twins want to repeat this year; lets see, 6 walks and 25 strikes out plus Minus 35 runs saved in the outfield, just what the Twins need, go from Plus 12 runs to Minus 35 and difference of only 47 runs. yes sir just what the Twins need. I would not have Garlick any where but Left Field, now Renfoe may work there.
  12. All six errors were not fine; in2019 hiz range was abysmal, there is a reason he does not play Third unless there is no alternative.
  13. Two in right field vs 12 for Kepler, not an improvement. Renfoe range is well below average so you are gaining nothing. excpet maybe with him thinnking: Here comes the ball, here comes the ball, oh darn, there goes the ball , there goes the ball. Kepler has become one of new punching bags since Jake Cave is gone.
  14. Yet his fielding numbers at Baseball Ref. are best at 2nd, good at 1st and horrendous at 3rd.
  15. 1. No more than 5 years. 2. Not a bad idea. 3. Do it if they can, Lee. is a banjo hitter and not a great defender. 4. EGADS, no -- trading a good and great defenders for one bad, and two unknowns, sheesh, Wallner belongs in AA. 5. Twins need a first line catcher with Jeffers, at best , as a back-up.
  16. Didn't all teams used to have, a home and an away uniform and that was it? If the baby blue goes away I will be happier ( speaking of uniforms, the Vikings should go back to what Bud Grant allowed , period.)
  17. I utsed to get spanked , verbally, by Larnach's Father in Law, so I have obviously not been a fan of Larnach. Now his fielding is sub-par but last season for a period he was a Doubles monster, I stay out of the pitching banter because , especially now that they do not hit, the only thing that ever got my attention for was were they a 20 game winner , or close to, and I can see the Twins need sone one/s they can feel confindent will not the game into a blow out SO, for once, I think the rookie Larnach should be at minimum be given a chance in Spring Training to see if his bat is a reality. You did not mention him, but some throw Wallner in as fielder and his bat looked like Badoo by the end of the year and Badoo, in Left Field is an above aver fielder but Wallner looked like a Key Stone Cop., so he is NOT, I hope, hope, hope, not going to be any where but AAA at most, If the Twins sacrifice fielding quality for a pitcher, who may or may not solve a problem, every one loses.
  18. They had a winning team in 2019 with newer guys and veterans, they need some veterans who are known quantity, not become just an extended AAA club, the fans in the stands deserve better and their attendance shows how happy they are with the curren here today, gone tomorrow rookie squad. None of the rookies has been repeatedly reliable, and just bringing more every year to replace the washouts is a certain formula for failure. Gordon is OK, Arraez had a very good year and is a better fielder than Polanco but Jeffers, Miranda, Conteras, Palacio etc. were mediocre , good at one aspect but not good at the other, hitting or fielding. Some seem to view the rookies as if they were their children being taught how to function the the adult world, with all the taking time from X, Y or Z on the 40 man BS. If they should be there, they will be there or get there, other wise they are where they belong.
  19. That is an idea, but too may outfielders are only competent where they have always been and too often not good in the other two.
  20. Technically Garlick is still a rookie, so what is your point; it was not turning the Twins into a AAA team that made the team a winner in 2019. The teams you mentioned were not built on -- Bring up so and so and so and so, cause maybe... wishful thinking -- that permeates this site. We will see next Spring Training who looks good and who still belongs in St.Paul.
  21. The bias against Garlick here is obvious , but then, Cave is gone but then, I do wish Garlick's fielding numbers were better.. Well bring up more rookies like Rooker, Badoo etc. , they fail , bring up some more , wishful thinking has gotten the Twins so many wins, LOL.
