Like your article. While I agree with most of it, if that's what we have for a bench as you suggest, we are in a heap of trouble.

Can the Pitching Staff Compete in 2022?
Whitey333 replied to Cody Pirkl's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
OMG. Someone thinks Buxton is a future hall of famer? Get real! He is a career .247 hitter and has played less than half of games during that span. He has had one great month that's it.i like him, and hope they can keep him, but let's not make him out to be more than he is: a good average hitter and great defensive center fielder. Don't worry, the money they save by not signing Buxton will allow them to dive in the pitching dumpster even more deeply and find some washed up cheap pitchers no one else wants.- 67 replies

Let the Learning Commence for Twins Brass
Whitey333 replied to Ted Schwerzler's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Great article and well thought out responses. The FO and Rocco gladly accepted the accolades after winning two division titles. But now they hide under analytics and injuries to explain their teams demise. You don't hear any of them taking any responsibility for the mess they have created. I actually don't think they will be fired, nor do I want them to be at this point. Maybe finally quit the dumpster diving especially for pitching. Give us some real baseball, fundamentally sound, good managing, and players that look like they care.- 45 replies

Game Score: Twins 2, Brewers 0
Whitey333 replied to Thiéres Rabelo's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
The pitch that was " 6 inches " off the plate was an obvious make up call for the previous one that was strike 3 but called a ball. Absolutely horrible umpiring. During the game Brewers got benefit of more calls from home plate umpire than Twins. The bigger question is where were the Brewers? They will probably show up both Saturday and Sunday and dominate Twins.- 23 replies

Jordan Balazovic's Development Is Critical
Whitey333 replied to Nash Walker's topic in Twins Minor League Talk
Excellent article!! I hope some of our prospects make it to the big club soon. I'd like to see what they can do. But it is one thing just to make it to the bigs and pitch for the Twins, it's quite another to become a viable pitcher. We have had many prospects make the club. That doesn't mean they are good enough to improve the club. The way the FO has mishandled the roster this year it's hard to be positive about their direction. What is their direction? There appears to be little. -
Buck Can Bankroll His Future in Final Month
Whitey333 replied to Ted Schwerzler's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
It's time to move on from Buxton. Too much energy is being wasted on a guy that can't even play in half the games. I like him and wish he would stay but for reasonable price. To me it just adds to the argument that the FO may be lost. There appears to be little direction or sense made of the current roster. The -
Game Score: Red Sox 12, Twins 2
Whitey333 replied to Matthew Taylor's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Here's hoping that on September 1st when the rosters can expand to 28 that we finally see some of these great pitching prospects the FO is pushing. They should have been here a while ago. The current " pitching staff" is in shambles. It's an embarrassment most of which was created by the FO. -

Colome' is a joke and has been all year. It's an emotional letdown when he is sent in to save the game. It is more likely he is going to blow the game. Baldelli says he's his closer. A closer and a loser what a combination!- 41 replies

Game Score: Red Sox 11, Twins 9
Whitey333 replied to Jamie Cameron's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Fact is Baldelli is a poor excuse for a Major League manager. His lineups continue to be ridiculous. In game management is a joke. He embarrassed his pitchers by leaving them in way too long when they are getting hammered. Jax didn't have it. It was obvious he shouldn't have been left out there. Remember he left Shoemaker and Happ out there on their last appearances as Twins and they got hammered through 3 innings. Dordnt he owe it to the rest of the team that he is at least trying to be competitive? Why would any FA pitcher want to come here? -
3 Questions Byron Buxton Can Answer in September
Whitey333 replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Lots of great Buxton comments. It's too bad injuries have derailed his career. I think the Twins offered him a fair contract due to all of his injuries. He is a career .247 hitter in 7 seasons. He had a great April now people are comparing him to Trout and others and giving him superstar status. Since when does one month make him an all star? I like him, and hope they can sign him but let's be reasonable. He needs to prove it by staying on the field and vastly improving on his .247 career average! -
Miranda Mania: 3 Ways To Get Him To Minneapolis
Whitey333 replied to Nash Walker's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
My goodness! We have a team in LAST place in the central and we cannot find a spot to see how our young prospects may help in the future. Come on, there's several DFA candidates like Cave, Simmons, Rooker and others. In my opinion The Twins have totally messed up this roster after we fell out of contention on May 1st. The FO and Baldelli don't seem to be on the same page. Service time? Twins openly delay service time to save money. Just ask Buxton. -

Twins are a pathetic joke. Baldelli is a Joke. Twin s front office is a joke. But who's laughing? Total embarrassment as usual against Yankees. -
Game Score: Yankees 10, Twins 2
Whitey333 replied to Thiéres Rabelo's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Sometimes I just don't understand Baldelli. He should be embarrassed. How many times do we have to listen to his BS that the pitcher did well? What game was he watching? He usually lifts pitchers after 8 innings but left Barnes out there to get hammered. Remember Shoemaker, and Happ? Baldelli embarrassed them and Twins by letting them " hang out to dry " on their last day of pitching for the Twins. I've been a backer of Baldelli but not any more. -
Game Score: Yankees 7, Twins 5
Whitey333 replied to Lucas Seehafer PT's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Baldelli says Twins Albee's pitched great. I guess he did. Does he realize the team lost the game? They are overmatched, again, by the Yankees. Good comeback attempt. But in the majors your goal is to win, not " look good.". Maeda was apparantly given extra days rest. He doesn't do very well with all the time off. I hope it works out for him.- 9 replies

Game Score: Twins 8, Cleveland 7
Whitey333 replied to Andrew Thares's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Looks like Thorpe is done. He's had plenty of chances. Twins have been very patient with him. Too bad Colome' blew it in the 9 th. I thought he was turning it around. Yes one bad outing in last 9 isn't the end but his first half of season was horrible and this adds to it. Poor defense still plagues the team. Thankfully Polanco has been there to bail us out!! It would be great if we could beat those Yankees. They are playing great ball- 43 replies

Whitey333 replied to Nate Palmer's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Awesome streak. Glad they are finally showing something positive where have they been the past three months? Remember in April with a relatively full team they went 9-15. That was with Buxton player of the month. Remember also how Twins and media "experts" chastised Twins fans for being negative? Remember the cry it's still early? I think those games counted in the standings. You wouldn't have known it then the way we were told to wait. They gave us 2 weeks of good baseball. -
The Man, The Beard, The Legend: Jake Cave.
Whitey333 commented on Sherry Cerny's blog entry in MNSotaSportsGal Twins Takes
To me Cave is one of those players the Twins love. He comes cheap. But if the Twins don't plan on bringing him back then he and Simmons and Pineada are just taking up space that young players should be playing. But it probably is cheaper to deny future players playing time to hold off service time for another year. Cheap! -
2022 team is mostly set up at this point
Whitey333 commented on Brandon's blog entry in Brandon's Blog
I agree with most of the fans here. If the Twins are just counting on current 40 man roster, count on a 90-100 loss season next year. If you are counting on Twins signing quality FA pitching, count on 90-100 losses next year. If you are counting on the pitching prospects to make a big impact next season, count on a 90-100 loss season. Prospects must prove they are MLB pitchers before we get too excited. I think with some tinkering, we could be competitive next year. Starting pitching, a bullpen, and a shortstop that can hit even a little bit would help. Get Buxton back and hope he plays close to what he did in April -
Gotta love the recent Twins surge. Too bad you don't get a pennant for playing well for one and half weeks lol. I am curious as to why Baldelli " rested" Rooker after he went went 6 for 9 in his previous 2 games. I'm sure it added a lot of confidence to Rooker. Or the other day when he pinch hit for the Turtle after he had hit a home run. What kind of sense is that?

Trio Hinting at Twins Pitching Pipeline
Whitey333 replied to Ted Schwerzler's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Yes and the Twins are good at filling out the roster with cheap players with team control. That is the biggest reason our pitching is near the bottom in MLB and why we are where we are! I hope these prospects pan out and produce a winning team.- 40 replies

Nice win for Twins. Nice to beat Sox. Lance Lynn was supposed to start but they are saving him for Thursday field of dreams game. We didn't have much offense but good pitching. I'd say well done.- 50 replies

I don't understand Twins management of this roster. Simmons is only taking up space at this point. Release him. No reason to keep him here when you have players that need MLB experience/ devolpment/ evaluation time.

Shouldn't be surprised by Baldelli pinch hitting for the turtle. He is the most unpredictable, unorthodox, unconventional " manager" in baseball. He's terrible at handling pitching management and many of his lineup and substitutions defy logic
