  1. That would be one heck of a trade as Sale is a Red Sox
  2. https://www.si.com/fannation/bringmethesports/twins/4-twins-land-in-baseball-prospectus-top-101-prospects Joe Nelson I think provided the link. I think it is behind a paywall, hence the Nelson article
  3. Berrios would not negotiate an extension. Trading him was the only option. If not traded he would now be gone for nothing but a late first round pick. SWR did make an appearance last year
  4. 2 were traded for. I was specific for a reason as signed by the Twins. Much easier to judge talent a few seasons in the minors
  5. There are three players on the 40 man roster that were IFA signed by the Twins. There are 3 IFA signed by the Twins as IFA on the top 30 list on MLB.com. Maybe their luck will change with these signings.
  6. When someone comes out with analysis of the data available to show the effect of the shift ban you can pass judgement on Kepler and Gallo There is another month for the Twins to make trades, and do the bullpen gem mining. So far they have a better catcher. Pretty much the difference will be relative health of the team and bounce backs from injury.
  7. There is no one way. Vlad Guerro Jr, Sano, Severino and Wander Javier. All big ticket, 4 different outcomes
  8. Anderson with the Mets, Zaidi with the Giants are analytics guys. The long contracts were to get him in the door, the medical reports were to get a saner contract. Middle infielders break down early. Ozzie Smith was elite until 38, Jeter 36, Lou Witaker about that same time period.. Most start declining about 32. In my opinion they were playing to the greed of Boras
  9. The union did reject the draft. The Twins have just under 6.4 million to sped
  10. Ulnar bone shortening to relieve wrist pain is not terribly successful so Russell might be smart enough to have talked to an orthopod and come to the same conclusion as the research. The procedure seems to have been done as a nothing else worked so try this kind of deal. Optimism is required. Reuses is rarely optimistic
  11. Well, the Twins began as the Washington Senators and back in the day they had this fella named Joe Cronin. So for franchise history the bar got set a little higher.
  12. The new Brian Duensing well, not really a deal sweetener but more like cheap vinegar or Fox Deluxe
  13. Any team that trades for Kepler I would think that it would be a contending team trying to plug a hole in the outfield. He has 2 years of control left. That is not really a building block for a developing team. Larnach, Kirriloff, Arraez or even Wallner would be something a team could build around.
  14. Justin Morneau would not argue baserunning is dangerous when I had hardware put in my ankle they told me eventually it was going to deteriorate. That was 40 years ago
  15. In terms of the position players I could of sworn it was a list of players you wanted to see in St Paul
  16. The Twins had a base running guru. They fired him. They need to send Celestine to a hitting school if there is one. The coaching here does not seem to help
  17. 2018 was Sale’s last good year. Who was the last player to come back after 4 non seasons to be elite for 2 more years
  18. Coming off the season that was a lot of players have something to prove. The order is easily obtained. Go by salary. It is incumbent upon the 7 and 8 figure players to play p. Remember when 6 figures was astronomical?
  19. 100 % are still breathing. That is individual success. What you are calling success to get 80% is a mystery to me.
  20. Other teams would engage Boras on a contract. Signing one is a different matter. I would suppose Boston could be a landing spot. It will probably be less money and years but it is not the teams that backed out of their offers even though it was the reasonable thing to do for the clubs
  21. 2 of the top 10 appear to be busts 2 of the top 10 are heading in that direction 2 of the top 10 who now have MLB experience have direct competition with Joey Gallo Ouch
