  1. Cave and Astudillo but not Rooker or Kirilloff or Broxton. Smh
  2. Hopefully the FO adds some top end talent (of any kind, not necessarily a pitcher) in July. That could set us up for getting over the hump and winning a SERIES (I won’t settle for just a single game). It won’t matter though if we straight up forget how to play baseball when it counts, like we have postseason after postseason.
  3. Well I might’ve been too hard on Astudillo. I mean if he proves this season he can hit then I wouldn’t mind having him on the roster. But if he can’t then he shouldn’t be on the playoff roster. I can’t complain too much with AK being optioned to the alternate site. Broxton, Garlick, and Rooker all look like better options at this point in time. Although, could they’ve found a spot for him? I’d rather see him on the roster than...IDK...Smeltzer.
  4. Does PR mean Public Relations here? And if so, what’s a PR nightmare?
  5. Dang, might as well not even tune in for the season then.
  6. I notice that the Twins offense is very reliant on HRs - that’s a problem
  7. Houston did that last year with Framber Valdez and Cristian Javier...and they COMPLETELY stifled us.
  8. The Pirates are 10-10 in ST. This is why ST stats are useless. They will lose ~110 games this season.
  9. *Frankly, they’ve earned some faith* Well, these bullpens have been solid in the regular season. Playoffs? Not so much. It was third to blame for last year’s postseason train wreck (behind of course: 1. The Offense and 2. Rocco). Duffey seems to fold when it matters. Same with Stashak. Can we be sure Robles won’t be awful? Most of our relievers have been putrid this spring. I mostly throw ST stats out the window, but it’s still concerning. I like the idea of getting a guy like David Robertson. IMO, you can never have too many quality bullpen arms. Robertson would be a great add. As I’ve also said, Rocco has vastly overused the bullpen the past two years. Too many bullpen games, pulling starters way too early. A lot needs to go right for our bullpen to be able to carry us through the playoffs. 1) Rocco needs to learn to not pull his starters when they’re dealing 2) Robles needs a bounce back year 3) Basically all of our relievers need to prove that ST stats are useless 4) Duffey needs to remain a dominant arm 5) Guys like Alcala, Stashak need to be solid
  10. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again - La Tortuga has no business being on the roster of a contending team. He might’ve played well in the minors but his MLB record is...well...not great. Below average defensively, can’t hit. I would much rather have almost any of the others you listed (including Cave) on the roster than La Tortuga.
  11. Vaughn may be a highly thought of prospect, but he hasn’t had a single AB at AA or higher. Maybe he’ll be great, but to think that he could be comparable to Cruz who has had an wRC+ hovering around ~150 5 the past 6 years is nonsense.
  12. I'm worried about this offense. We won't finish above .500 if we hit like this during the season.
  13. The Twins beat the likes of Castillo, Bieber, Giolito, and Darvish. They also struggled Mightily against trash SPs like Tarik Skubal. When you look at that, you'll notice that quality of the SP had negligible effect on how the offense did. They were inconsistent as hell all season long, and quality of the SP had no noticeable effect on this offense. Therefore, the argument that this offense only beats trash SPs and struggles mightily against Aces falls completely flat. They've looked flat all ST this year, including against AA/AAA pitchers. Maybe is our offense just...IDK...terrible? IDK...until this offense plays a playoff game where the hitters (and the manager) don't have their heads up their @$$es I wouldn't worry so much about the pitching.
  14. Of course then the question is “Will they?” We can only hope.
  15. I wouldn’t take ST stats too seriously. Pros are just warming up during ST.
  16. Didn’t he have a 4.00 ERA? Also, he had 68 strikeouts over 63.0 innings EDIT: My bad, I thought you were talking about Berrios
  17. Well, what kind of player is Kepler? Is he the guy we saw in 2019? Is he the guy we saw in every other season in his career? Maybe somewhere in between? If Kepler is average again at the plate, maybe platoon the position (w/Rooker)?
  18. They need to beat good teams AND not play down to their competition. The only doormat in the AL Central at this point is probably Detroit. They have Pittsburgh on their schedule again and they will have Baltimore and Texas as well. If they come away with a ~.500 winning percentage against those teams, it will be hard to win the division.
  19. **The Yankees and their fans are totally unafraid of the 2021 Twins. How far would you go to make them squirm?** No team fears us in the playoffs. We’ve lost 18 straight playoff games, so IDK why any team would take us seriously. If we’re being serious though, IDK if the Reds would trade Castillo. They seem to be in a position to compete for a Wild card spot or a division title. Maybe call up the Rockies about German Marquez.
  20. I was mainly referring to 2019 and 2020 with the ~100 wRC+. In which he went 103 (2019) and 110 (2020). Also, yes, I agree it won't take nothing for Kirilloff to replace Rosario offensively (Not the case with defense, given how Rosario has sucked defensively, as long as Kirilloff isn't making boneheaded plays both in LF and on the bases), but I don't think it would be too lofty to expect a 100-110 wRC+ from Kirilloff, which is what Rosario has had the past 2 years.
