Neither am I, velocity is still king but only if you can combine it with movement, location and effective change of speeds. All of those obviously make the best MLB pitchers but having at least two of them when you throw 100 will make you awfully effective. Not sure Graterol can combine any of them consistently enough yet, he’s close though.

He was regularly hitting triple digits in the most recent Cleveland series, with some sink. Might not have had the best feel for his pitches last night or he’s still working through being a big leaguer. He is 21 after all.

I thought for sure Odor would wear one in Toronto after pimping that HR down 17-3. I’m sure his own team wanted to see him plunked, lol.

You teach kids to run station to station, but not to take pitches. Learning to hit is the most important part of their game. These are pros, as mentioned earlier they police themselves. They didn’t need to hit Kepler, maybe throw behind him or high and tight to let them know what Cave did wasn’t appreciated. It’s not that big a deal.

They just can’t out hit their pitching any longer, particularly with below average defence. It’s not complicated, but it’s confusing that they envisioned this working this long.

Let’s be honest, during the last Yankees-Twins series, neither pitching staff or bullpen did anything to believe either of them can be trusted. Yes I’d rather have the Yankees pitching, but it’s far from invincible. I think it’s the opposite, the only way the Twins can compete with the Yankees in the playoffs is offensively.

I’m not disappointed. The Twins have exceeded my expectations this season and I’ll continue to enjoy the ride. There is some disappointment in the pitching staff not being bolstered before the deadline but anyone who thought this team would be 24 games over .500 and in the midst of a pennant race, is not being very honest with themselves. The things that were a concern for this team during the off season are still there, most of us went into the season expected those problems to effect the performance of the team, and right now they are. The bats went crazy and the team hit homeruns at a record pace and we all got fat and sassy about it. Now, because the old reality has crept back in, the entitlement around here is pretty interesting to watch. I’m going to just see what happens, life is too short to piss and moan everyday.

Annnnnnnd………….you jinxed it.

Low outside corner at 98 a couple of times last night, combined with how well he went up in the zone and his changeup, that's borderline unhittable. Hes always been such a tantalizing player, if he can maintain what he did last night, I'd be drooling....more than normal that is.

Zero facts to back what up? His hasn't made important contributions with his latest changes? Where are the facts backing up your claim? If you're going to call someone out to provide facts, don't also make an assertion without providing any of your own.

Not sure what people think the Twins should do with Dyson. Complain away, but he's going to keep getting opportunities to be effective, which I'm sure he will be.
