Assuming Odo wasn’t healthy to go tonight. It really came down to Bailey or Dobnak. And neither one likely makes the post season roster anyways. Seems like a logical place to start Bailey
Signing Castellanos might make the team a little better this year, but I would prefer developing Kirilloff, Raley, Graterol, Duran, Berríos, Lewis etc into major league contributors next year
He didn’t look all that major league ready late last year. The best options look to be to either use him as a trade piece. Turn him into a full time reliever (but the 8 man bullpen looks pretty full already). Or try to develop him into a 2021 starter in Rochester this year.
His value is as a candidate for the versatile bench player. Will likely battle with the likes of Wade, Raley, Gordon etc for a spot on the 26 man roster
Corner outfielders don’t seem to have much trade value, unless they are elite. So don’t expect a trade of any of them, including Rosario. So the order of the backup outfielders is likely Cave-Wade-Raley. I would be surprised if any of the other three see the bigs this year. Barring injuries
They may end having to go the Pineda/Gibson route if none of the “better” free agents choose the Twins. No reason to sign Romo, can always find someone like him at trade deadline if they are contenders. Improving the team defense would also be a good goal for this off season.
The Twins need to add starting pitching however they can. If it means sacrificing some offensive assets, so be it. There will be much competition from other teams in signing the free agents.
