  1. Bizarre choice to close tonight, if Molitor really is going to go by committee. I suspect we better get used to this though, none of these guys have been in the role in the bigs before.
  2. I think the FO and Santana are far less worried about his comments than this board. (Yes Mike, I know it's a Twins board...) His comments were not a big deal.
  3. Sure they can give him a shot, I just question if he has the stuff. Most of what I've read suggests he doesn't currently. I'd love to be wrong.
  4. I am torn at Gonsalves. His numbers are good, but most people believe he's a AAAA pitcher with fringe stuff at best.
  5. Absolutely. I'd be surprised if Stewart is on the 25 man in a week, but great for him to get the call.
  6. Semantics. Anyone who can play in MLB for 14 seasons has had a pretty damn good career that 99.9% of baseball players would dream of. I don't see where he was compared to Maddux. Maddux was one of a kind. Agreed, that does sully his rep non doubt. I don't think the Twins should resign him even at a reduced price. He looks done to me. I guess his is the argument for running him out there for another month.
  7. Also reading that Austin is coming up, but the corresponding move hasn't been made. I've seen enough of Duffey.
  8. Interesting trade, I guess it makes sense moving Rodney when he doesn't fit. The Twins will probably need to sign a closer in the off season.
  9. What were they supposed to do? Not trade Dozier and Escobar and end up with nothing? Our owners will never allow them to win FA wars, this is the only way.
  10. Obviously to enough to keep Escobar. As a fan, Escobar was my favorite guy to watch, but the FO's job is not to be a fan. Keeping and losing him would have been like the days of Terry Ryan and a big worthless mistake.
  11. I've seen numerous times that Escobar's team rejected an extension, so why wouldn't you trade him?
  12. I would take that as well, but do you remember the days when the Twins were winning AL Central Titles regularly? We were told it's no big deal since we couldn't win a World Series.
  13. I'd love to have Escobar back at a reasonable price, I also like Cave much more than Granite. Better hitter and better arm.
  14. Yes. .500 is my first threshold. The Twins have been under .500 for months, this is not anything new. The non waiver trade deadline is in a few days, moves have to be made. How anyone thinks we are contending 6-8 games under .500 is fooling themselves.
  15. We're blaming losses on the trades now? Anyone remember Kansas City? The FO absolutely did the right thing. The Twins are not even .500!
  16. And the talking heads seem to think he doesn't have any + pitches. Hopefully he turns out, but he seems far from a sure bet.
  17. It's too bad you give up so easily on these players, I think a couple of them could be nice players.
