  1. Interesting outside the box trade, but I think I'd want some pitching coming back even at a lower level to accept this.
  2. If they extend him, I really hope they can get 2 years or if they have to 3 years. I like Romero and Graterol and think they both will be good MLB pitchers with potential to be great. I'm on the fence on Thorpe, he is an interesting prospect. Gonsalves could surprise, but all I here is not enough control with no plus pitches.
  3. Agreed, I don't see them as contender's next year, so I would at least listen to a trade. Contending next year is going to take a 180 from this season. I don't see it, especially if the payroll goes back down.
  4. You are not supposed to compliment Wilson, Rodney or Belisle on this forum. Shhhh.
  5. To be fair, I've never said I would keep someone without knowing the alternative. It doesn't make any sense.
  6. Prospects are definitely a gamble, and I'm not sold on dealing Gibson. He's in his 30's, so age has to at least be considered as well. Without no reported offers, it's impossible to say if I would deal him or not.
  7. The question was asked, I answered it. We don't know what teams are offering, so I have no idea what I would do. It would be more foolish not to listen.
  8. Because the trade could make the team better? He's the best trade chip they have?
  9. This is an easy question, it's not even close. It's Sano. He provides exactly nothing to the team right now. If he can't hit, he doesn't do anything else well. Buxton can still play defense and has speed that can be used. Huge disappointment, but he has other tools than can be utilized.
  10. When they decide to sell, Belisle will be gone and Morrison will likely too.( unless they think he's a good cheap rebound candidate.) They will try their best to trade at least two of Rodney, Duke, Reed and Pressly. They will also listen on Gibson, Odorizzi, and Lynn. I have a hunch they'll need to be blown away to move Odorizzi or Gibson. I fully expect Dozier to be traded and I think they keep Escobar. They will definitely play Garver more often, but I would play Wilson fairly often too. If you are legitimately looking at pitchers, I want multiple feedback from both catchers.
  11. Best point of the thread imo. I don't understand the bullpen usage like everyone else.
  12. I wouldn't have brought back Belisle, however the guy is getting way to much crap for this season. Look at his outings, he's either pitching a zero run inning or he's had three outings that ruined his numbers. #thenewpunto #scapegoat #getoverit
  13. I understand Slegers getting hit, I don't understand Morrison going to third. Classic trying to do too much. I'm curious to see if he can get it together and if the Twins think of resigning him. His track record says he'll be better than this.
  14. I'm a bit torn on Garver. I feel like a backup is his ceiling at catcher, he's not a prospect any longer in my eyes. Still, I wouldn't mind seeing him a bit more often. Great minds think alike.
  15. It also is under the prefix that I'm even right considering the pitchers desires. Wilson's numbers are brutal for MLB, but I don't consider him to be killing the offense. Plenty of guys are not having good years. Maybe I'm old school with catchers, I still view them as defensive players and game callers. If they can hit, it's a huge bonus.
  16. I see what you are saying, but if my pitchers are more comfortable with one catcher, I'm willing to play him. Or find a 3rd catcher.
  17. I completely agree with this 100%. An the Cubs and other teams have owners willing to spend.
  18. I agree that this proposed trade is not enough. That said, the Twins would be foolish to offer up Lewis or Romero. They have all kinds of cash next season, sign a FA catcher and keep the prospects.
  19. I was with some Twins minor league instructors at a non profit event this past weekend. They said some nice things about Alston, which you would expect. I found it interesting how Alston does not believe in a true slide step because he believes it's not worth the loss of velocity. It seems they are teaching a small V kick to keep velocity up and to get the ball to home quicker than the windup. It was an interesting conversation.
