  1. After the game Baldelli yelled out to his players "We're all going to disneyland"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. I hope Jax is more reliable and doesn't choke on his military maneuvers.
  3. Jax' MO= High leverage, late game situation equals gopher ball.
  4. Just got home. Can anyone fill me in on Buxton? Play, not play, IL, recess time?
  5. Were the Twins allowed to enter Dodger stadium through the visitor's entrance or did they have to buy tickets?
  6. When the ump made the call about the play being overturned, my mind rushed back to a Viking game when an offical (armen T.) got plunked.
  7. "And once again, folks, the Twins demonstrate on how to beat yourself before the opposition does"...........................ESPN correspondent
  8. Instant replay calls should only take as long as it take to view the various angles. If you have to look and study and assume this or that, you've lost the credibility. It has to be based on actuality, not possibility.
  9. Did the home plate ump call the runner out before tagged? The runner was 15 ft out of the baseline.
  10. I guess I should have said 'weekend". As a kid growing up in southern Minnesota, I would occassionally work a "weekend" to hel out a farmer who was going somewhere for the weekend. Since I was in school, I was available Saturday and Sundays.
  11. This may be way too obvious, but Bremer's post gam comments will center on the Twins splitting this 4 game set, if we lose. While he may be correct, to some extent, The Twins could have done better. As long as these guys accept mediocrity, we'll never have the edge in close games or in the playolffs.
  12. True. But a team fighting for ticket revenue ( I presumea) could have chosen another day. How about Wednesdays? They have a lot of day games scheduled (getaway day) and a lot of Thursday off days. That scenarios provides possibly even more time off. Sundays off is not the only scenario.
  13. I remember when I was kid, I came to stay a few days with my brother and his family. We had box seats and it was going to be a rush to get to the Met before the game started. I was already disappointed missing batting practice and infield. Game started despite a light rain. No Killebrew in the starting lineup. This was not turning out to be a great time. Game goes on, we're p[laying Oakland and we're down 2-1, bottom of the ninth. All of a sudden Killebrew , appears on the on deck circle. Fans are going nuts, and the stadium is shaking. Like 2 or 3 pitches later, Killer hits a walkoff 2 run homer. What a GREAT TIME!!!!!!!
  14. Mauer had a lot of Sundays off. I always thought, that the Twins being thought of as a 'regional team", it was unfair to those people who traveled on the weekends not to be ablr to see him play. A lot of rural people, with limited funds, were very disappointed.
  15. Boy, this really clogs the toilet. At least, at first impression. Gordon going to warm up?
  16. I think Perk needs to listen to some of the interviews by Vin Scully. I think he could benefit if he took on Scully's method of knowing when to be quiet and let the crowd noise tell the story. Unless, Perk is getting paid by the word.
