  1. Bullpens can be such unpredictable creations. The Twins got snake-bit this year with the rash of injuries to the young arms/prospects, plus the long-shot notion that Perkins and Hughes could return with effectiveness. I know most people don't want to hear the mantra "be patient" but I think we have to be in this case. I like what we have waiting in the wings.
  2. Yeah, the bullpen mix for next year should be VERY interesting and very competitive. As you noted. even less-heralded guys like Belisle and Gee have played useful roles this year. Do we keep Duffey and hope he bounces back? Is there a role for Phil Hughes? And will Chargois and Burdi bounce back from injuries and contribute? The bullpen could actually be a strength in 2018.
  3. Molitor was quoted in a post-game interview, talking about Gibson's rough first innnng: "Of all the things he's done, this one's, in some ways, is maybe a little more impressive to give us six innings after that start." And I have to agree with that. Hanging in there, settling down, and giving the Twins six innings was huge. If Molitor had been forced to go to the bullpen in the second inning, well, the outcome of this game may have been very different. In any case, Gibson held it together when we needed it.
  4. Just for the name alone, Akil Baddoo, this kid rates highly. But the bonus is that he seems to have all the right tools to reach the majors. Hope the climb continues.
  5. Very fun to see back-to-back walkoff homers this week. Both Rosario and Buxton seem to be playing with a lot of confidence down the stretch. Let's hope it continues!
