Seems like a good trade for the Twins! 

Good trade. Was terrified to see who the Twins gave up, but Ynoa seems like a fair trade.

I was intrigued by Ynoa, but as others have said, you have to get to give.

I acknowledge that Ynoa is very much a lottery ticket, so as much as I'd like to see him succeed, he's so far away you gotta think this probably doesn't come back to bite you.

Ynoa seems like a long ways away.  Recker has bounced around a lot.  Good trade, really hope this settles the backend of the rotation. 

Maybe the Twins have a deal in place for Garver? That or they are giving up on Giminez/JRM. Don't think Chris goes though. Seems as if he is very popular in the clubhouse

I for one am very happy that Baddoo isn't going back to Georgia.

Or that the prospect goung the other way is not Blankenhorn.

What does acquiring the catcher mean? Giving up on JR Murphy or moving Garver?

My guess is that he's AAA insurance for a Garver callup. There is an outside chance the Twins are putting together another trade that involves Garver but I'd be surprised if that happened.

Granted Ynoa is not Romero, Gonsalves, etc at this point but yes he is a recently turned 19 year old and is in short season A ball, he also has all the talent to stay a starter.  He signed for 800K as a 16 year old, if you want a translation or conversion think of it as a draft pick, you'd trade your 2nd round pick in the draft for 2 months of Jaime Garcia? Personally, I wouldn't.

Yes, this seems like a decent deal. Ynoa has upside, but is a long way away, and isn't excelling. Garcia is better than what we had, which probably isn't saying a lot, but he's an established back end of the rotation guy. I'd much rather see him on the mound than Colon, Gibson or Santiago.

I'd say fair. And I'm betting Garver is up very soon and a return to a 7 man bullpen.

We're talking about the same kid who had tommy john surgery and the Braves didn't like his medical report since then.  I'd be more worried about that if I was a Twins' fan.

I'd trade a lot of former 1st or 2nd round picks for Garcia

But would you trade your 2018 2nd round pick for him?  So wish baseball allowed draft pick trades ahead of time.

The trade makes sense--from the perspective of "See, the FO is trying to improve the 2017 team's chances to get to the playoffs! ".
