I'd start by finding a couple DFA'd outfielders with no past and no future, sign em and get em on the 25 quick like.   Edit:  on second thought, better sign at least one extra.  You never know when on

Correct me if I am wrong, but Mauer got a double and THEN was tagged out?  Did they call that a single because I know I saw the same thing happen less than a week ago in a different game where it was called a double.  It should too, since he did reach safely only to then be caught off the bag.

Hard to blame the scorer for being confused. He'd never seen a twin get to second base.

I was talking to my insurance guy about my car accident and I mentioned that it happened just down the street from my house. 

 

Insurance Guy: Well that makes sense... I was just reading a report from the company that said 77% of all car accidents occur near home. 

 

Riverbrian: That's interesting... What is the percentage of driving done near home? 

 

Insurance Guy: I don't know... hold on... I've got that somewhere... (Click Tap Tap Tap on the Computer)

 

(Long Pause of silence while he reads for about a minute). 

 

Insurance Guy: Here it is... (Pause)             77%

Edit:  The box score includes this disclaimer,  "Live statistics during games are subject to change and should be considered unofficial.",  so there's a chance it could all turn out to be a hoax.

Not one I would have done. I did win the AP best headline award in 1989 at the Idaho Statesman. Kinda like being the tallest building in Wichita -- big deal.
