Kirilloff as trade bait?

Twins and A's are reportedly discussing Manaea and Montas and the A's just traded Matt Olson to Atlanta. Would including Kirilloff in a package for Montas be overpaying? (For the record I wouldn't include him)

Montas / Kiriloff are pretty close to even up, but I'd bet it'd never happen. The A's need a 2B or a 3B if they trade Chapman which I think they will. That should make Arraez attractive as the headliner together with pitching prospects Canterino and Duran would be fair.  But since they are motivated it could be lesser prospects. The FO needs to be persistant in counter offers to make this happen.

Where did you hear that? IMO RHP Montas is much more appealing than LHP Manaea

Dondaldson was a salary dump. Congratulate the Twins on that. Otherwise, could the Yankees have traded Sanchez to the Rangers for Isiah? Not sure what went wrong there. But the Twins got the guy the Yankees wanted and a trade proceeded from there.

Sanchez may not likable, but he catches more games than Garver. Not that the Twins need that if Jeffers works out. What I hate is that he is basically a clone of Sano, who I don't really want to see in the field either. These two batting in the same lineup - meh!

Gio is like a more fleshed-out Escobar. Workable. Maybe Miranda will start the season in leftfield. Maybe not (Garlick, Cave or Rooker?). I picture, as of today, Beckham being the starting shortstop.

When healthy last year Kirilloff looked great. He's a possible elite bat who looked like he was well on his way when he was healthy. If the team medical people are telling you his wrist is a gigantic question mark for his entire career you can certainly think about trading him now, but if that's not the case I'm not trading a bat like his for a year or 2 of a pitcher.

Buxton has a no trade clause so if for that reason alone he is untouchable.  I see Buxton/Kirilloff as the future of the franchise so IMHO he is also untouchable.  There are plenty of other options.  NO.

Now I don't think that this would be a good trade. Personally, I think that Martin or Lewis would be the better trade. Of course, there would be a package deal. Maybe a package of Martin/Lewis, Duran, Gordon/Arraez, and Rooker. The A's would more than likely take Martin over Lewis because he hasn't lost back-to-back seasons.

I think Alex is going to be a great hitter.  Any trade including him better be amazing!
