  1. at this point ... 9 innings pitched into his major league career as a 30 year old rookie. i think the league will make adjustments i like the 'career minor leaguer makes the show' story as much as anyone else, but if we're still talking about ryne harper in august, it's because the twins are 10+ games out
  2. i had no interest in Odorizzi when he was worth a top ten prospect, but this, this i like a lot
  3. i have no problem with a move like this. the current bullpen is terrible all around, so if chris heston comes in and pitches 3 mediocre innings before being DFA'd, whats the difference? if he catches lightning in a bottle and pitches well for two weeks before he's DFA'd, that will be an improvement over what we've got right now
  4. i'd like to see Adrianza or Goodrum on the team for no other reason than it would likely mean Danny Santana is no longer on the roster. Adrianza can't hit and Goodrum definitely isn't a long term solution. But they both have one thing going for them... they aren't Danny Santana
  5. hopefully its been ruled out. personally, i'm kinda tired of watching middle infielders play terribly in the outfield.
  6. i'd hate to lose Tonkin without seeing what he could do when used properly. but if Molitor refuses to use him any other way, whats the point of keeping him around? i was a firm believer in Duffey as a starter, but i'm afraid that ship has sailed. i think his curveball can work well out of the pen though so i'd keep him there. personally, i'd probably DFA Breslow and if he doesn't catch on anywhere offer him a job in the analytics department
  7. while dreaming about signing top tier free agents can be fun, reality is that none of these guys or any top tier free agents are going to sign in Minnesota until they prove they can have sustained success. their only hope would be to outbid every other team and hope the player values money over winning. which, i don't think is as common as many people would believe, especially for the top tier guys who are going to get paid no matter where they go arguing about who they should target and how much they should be willing to spend or commit in years is moot until the Twins can entice free agents with something other than money
