This is awesome. This is exciting. This is within the realm of realistic possibilities. The Twins ownership we all knew is no more. Although the current regime has been risk adverse as it pertains to long-term contracts, it is not infeasable that as this window of contention has opened, so has the willingness to invest in what is truly needed to bring home the World Series rings...quality and depth in the starting pitching realm. Cole. Berrios. Wheeler. Odorizzi. Wow! (and Castro - keep the band together.)

Another great, balanced, and fair weekly review on the greatest Twins site ever. We've made it to the ALDS with a historic season by a team for the ages. Sure, there are injuries and performance issues, but I look forward to see who rises to the occasion and contributes when it matters most.

I see it as a testament to this team where everyone contributes that it was Castro and Cave homeruns that get us the Season HR record.

Agreed. This is exactly the start they needed for the fans and for themselves to show that games are played on the field and staying in games and battling their tales off can lead to some great things.

Here's a question for your next one: Torii Hunter made some statements welcoming Aaron Hicks to the line of great Twins centerfielders and said he'd hit for power not just be a slap hitter. So who was Torii dissing most?

Very nice blog. I've had similar observations about the contrasts of major league baseball vs rookie league but mine were in reverse order to yours. I grew up in southern Minnesota and got to see a handful of Twins games at the old Met stadium but listened to a lot of games on 830 WCCO. Twenty some years ago I moved to Helena, Montana and have gone to quite a few Pioneer League games. You are right on about the intamacy of the games and players. Enjoy your visit.
