  1. Yeah Sano was exhausted, despite him swinging at the least % of pitches. Was disappointed in that regard. I think he'd have a good shot at winning one of these if he could put more swings in. In two rounds he had less HR than Bour did in one. And ultimately got favorable draws to get there. But it was still nice to see him represent well. *cough* Dozier *cough*
  2. Side note. I *finally* updated my time zone settings (after lurking here for years). No longer are posts listed as 6 hours ahead of time. It's the small things in life...
  3. Look at the bright side. With the shellacking the Jays took tonight, they have passed our hometown heroes for 3rd worst run differential in the AL!
  4. Seems like my interest in these milb recaps goes in waves. Right now I'm in a peak. Want to see how the bullpen arms do. Gordon and Palacios. The rookie leagues with all the new draft picks. squeeee!
  5. Pretty crazy to me that we're trotting our two guys I'd never heard of before the season, and one guy (Gibson) who I wish we'd never trot out again, in the biggest series of the year (thus far). Actually what's really crazy is that we are in first place, given the state of our pitching staff. I'll enjoy it while it lasts. And in the meantime I'll populate a twins sweep.
  6. This is the last year players not born this millennium will flood the draft.
  7. So in reading this article, they linked to the best hitters in the game since the ASG. Kepler 8th, Dozier 10th, Mauer 17th. http://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?pos=all&stats=bat&lg=all&qual=y&type=8&season=2016&month=31&season1=2016&ind=0&team=0&rost=0&age=0&filter=&players=0&sort=17,d
  8. 1) when I was maybe 8 or 9, my uncle lived across the hall in an apartment from Kent Hrbeks sister. Fast forward a couple of years and that same uncle lived in a home. Married. Kid on the way. Dog. All american family. That dog had puppies. Carrie Hrbek got wind. Happened to know a Mr Kirby Puckett who was looking for a dog. So there I sat, my boyhood idle standing in front of me wearing normal clothes with his wife Tanya. I could hardly look at him. Was super friendly and nice. Got a few things signed, topps rookie card I still have. Turns out Tanya was allergic. Told my uncle to keep the money. Brought the dog back. With a huge bucket of toys. Cool experience. dont really collect memorablia anymore so nothing jumps out at me. A Honus Wagner in the attic, maybe?
  9. I'll add my resounding Boooooo to the mix. Not because I think TR is a donk, the twins have no plan, or that zack jones is gone. But because I want to see my favorite team improve. Having no idea what TR was looking at, what deals were offered, what prospective trade partners (teehee prospective) may have wanted or offered, I have little to add from a baseball standpoint. I just know we were luckier than we were good last year, and I want us to be lucky AND good next. So my disappointment lies mostly in the fear of the unknown. Then again, we could be the 2014-2015 Padres.
